Flatout demo

Time to try it, I'll let you know how it is in a few mins :D
 
Holy crap this game is great, the physics are hilarious, and the graphics are awesome!!!
 
It's pretty cool, hard to control the car (with keyboard only anyway), the driver coming out of the windshield is cool but the ragdoll looks a little odd.

The game looks great, runs well on my system (2800+, 9800 pro, gig of ram) at full, 2xAA, some AF (dunno how much, it's on a slider), and at 1024x768.

Physics interactions look to be sound, lots of things to bash your car into.

I'm gonna go try out the rest of the tracks (1 car and 3 tracks in the demo)

OMFG the highjump track is awesome! Fling your driver out as high as you can (managed 99.78 on my second go :p)

There is some seriously cool stuff in that park, a massive darts board, bowling alley, can't wait for the full game :D
 
Is this worth it? It looks a bit shitty (no not dirty). Saw a video of it a few weeks ago & I was hardly impressed. But I'll give it a go anyway :D

Highjump is fun, I wont buy this game not my thing, but damn that highjump is crazy! My best is around 90 something too.

I headbutted the 90m sign, took out all the distance signs on the way down on that side + the advertising signs at the bottom

How the hell do you get so high? My top score was 80 meters or something...?
It's amazing... I drove directly into the ladder and the ladder fell down on top of the car and the top of the car got completely smashed! Really nice hit-points!
 
heh iv had some fun on this game as well. my highest was 110.something, flew clear over the bar. pretty fun for those times where u just want something different.

yeh its great. forget trying to win the damn race jus spin ur car around and do crazy jumps with ur car and go off road and wait in the middle of the raod and wen u see a car coming towards ur drive into it with ur nitro! u go out the windscreen but so does tht NPC cars!
 
Anyone else had problems trying to get the game to run? I've downloaded and installed the demo but when I go to run it, nothing happens!! any ideas?

You hold shift just as your going up the jump and it propells you out of the windscreen :E
 
Drifting through corners just feels so natural in this game :E

The physics are great, even has the rope physics that HL2 also has (in the telephone poles) and something like a traffic cone under your car can seriously mess up your driving as you would expect.

Yeah, and highjump is superfun :E
 
I cant wait to play all the other mini games. When is this game coming out?

Same with me. Nothing happens when I start the demo. :frown:
 
I fixed the problem, you have to download the latest version of directx 9. there's a link to it in the read me file. hope that helps you.
 
After playing the demo now for an hour or two I have to say it's one of the funnest racing games I've ever played! as others have said the physics kickass, and if you're worried about them slowing your comp down you should be fine. It runs constantly above 60fps (usually around 70 - 85) on my setup: P4 2.6, 9800 pro 128mb, 512 ram. and thats with 2x AA on.

The actual racing is great, the competitors are pretty good and the general feel of the game is wicked. It's so Sweeet seeing bits of car and road side objects flying everywhere!!! Total carnage!!!
 
fun as hell cept theres some clipping issues with the physics and they dont seem to have any friction but other than that its addicting

in yay2 I actually managed to get over the "safety-net" but unfortunately there's an invisible wall...I hit the net from behind :p

New record is 112.2 for best jump :/
 
Ooooh, nice, 116. I wish I could get the full version, this game is so much fun!

I also finished the race for the first time :rolling:.
