Well then. Here's an FN F2000 model I made. Is it possible to replace UT2K3 weapons? If so, I'd want to put this in there.

It's 3876 polies (eek!) but I can take that down by deleting the backfaces that won't be seen ingame. I don't know how much I will really edit as of now, but any help is good help! The thing I'd need help on is making it look more realistic, any sort of wear and tear effect doo-dads for any of my future textures I do.

It looks nice from the side but how does it look from the angle that matters (first person)?

Although ive seen this elsewhere im still jizzing my undies.

Off Topic: Whats the point of the empty shells travelling to the front of the gun to be ejected.

anyway i think it looks awsome  ......some angled shots would be nice

That looks pretty amazing. I know this may sound odd but the strap below the trigger really does make it look much more human, well not human but like it is a proper gun in combat. The texturing looks amazing.

I think that means that he is speechless. Like, duuuuh that is uber-badass-mofo-kicking-ass-and-opening-a-can-of-whoopass-for-ya kind of weapon.

That is simply amazing, looks kinda bug but who da hell cares. It's very very cool and ...omg...the textures *droolage*

seen it before, still looks amazing. Only comment is why don't you show use a side that'll be seen ingame, unless this is for a lefty...

Short_Fuse: the shels move to the front to be ejected so it's an ambidextrious weapon.

tbh, u made my FN3000 look like shit for my mod :p wp m8, It looks really high polgon though. whats the count?

My god that is awesome!

The un-textured model looked good enough, then i saw it textured :D :D :D

Good skills :)

The polycount is in my first post :E

I wasn't really thinking about which side I was showing when I rendered it out, so that's why I made this just now.

The bandage/grip thing is nice touch :E

I really love that texture, its got just the right amount of wear and tear on it

How long did it take you to do in total?

Awesome work Ankalar :)

One of our modelers did a F2K and I brought it in game for him to check it out. It's not the most interesting gun from a 1st person view point but that doesn't reflect on your work. The skin is amazing :D.

This is a very nice model....

and this was not edited by the moderator.... whistle...

sorry, st0lve, i just found it sort of offesive, and if i did, someone else might, and you know what these people are like :rolling:

So it can be used right of left handed without the cartridge ejection causing injury.

you will notice both my post and who i quoted were edited by a mod.....what Pezz3D said wasnt very nice....

wow.. I usually dont really like seeing people post weapon models (cause so many people do it already) but you are an exception.. very nice.. that model stands out above the rest.

Think that could be because weapons play a big role in the mods? ;)

I agree with both of you. Anyway, handsdown your 1 of the best modelers/skinners i have seen...

Oh man.. Watching stuff likes this makes me a bit ... jealous. Just a bit, promise..

You don't feel like making a skinning tutorial Ankalar..? Or a modeling tut, either one is fine..

btw. Can anyone tell me how to do those pimpin' renders??

A combination of clever use of smoothing groups and good lighting (usually with the assistance of a renderer/plugin/script you have to pay for). For the cheap people, there is a free Maxscript that produces pretty good results called E-light.

Did you download the codec? (it's in the readme :))

I don't like making real big tutorials because it makes me seem like I think I'm better than everybody else ;(

But if you insist, what should I model in this tutorial?

LOL thats exaclty what im thinking about my tutorials. Im about to release a set of 4 video tutorials. Im talking throughout them making it seem as though this is the way it is done. When really its just the way i do it.

Pendragon, it's the Techsmith codec, not "EnSharpen" or whatever you're talking about :p Search for TSCC on the site.

I'll make a tutorial, but I still don't know what to model in it.

No you can't replace UT2003 weapons :)

But great model/texture anyways.

I didn't think my post about making a tutorial would be taken seriously.. Great!

The vid for rendering was pretty good eventhough half was rendertime
The notepadbit was kind of cute...

Anything you feel like doing Ankalar, but I would be incredibly happy if you would do both a modeling and skinning tutorial (the same model).
Don't feel the need to do something perfect, but at least showing the general how to's.

And if you would do a tutorial, do something you think is fun, we wouldn't want you to be bored, now would we?

Anyways, even if you never ever make a tutorial and all that, good luck and great job.
Are you working on a mod? That models good enough by any standards, I'd say.

plz no video turoials, give us 56k'ers a brake:) Plz!!! do some type of a tutorial on any gun you want, but, and most importantly show us how you create your textures, make a skin map ect. I am dieing to learn about skinning and texturing!!!

Well you can, but you have to code...

Yes it is possible. You just have to know UnrealScript.

That is insanely madnessly crazy AWESOME, you should consider making a usable version for the half-life engine namely Natural Selection.

WHen are you plannign on releasing more information about "Nuclear Dawn" It looks very promising!

That is quite an impressive team (and the artwork is nice, too :E)... as if it hasn't been said before.

holly shizer. Ankalar are your/the team recruiting? I dunno if I am good enough though :S Thats is like exactly whjat I have been looking for though.

Ankalar, have you got a website for the mod yet? I saw the concept of your website in the link you provided and your personal website but no link to a Nuclear Dawn one yet.

the website comes out in may. I think. Thats what the website says.
