Will we still be able to get the game shipped to us? I already have the game preloaded, but I really want the boxed version. On the voucher it says allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Yikes! Does anyone know what will happen with that? It would be nice if they let us play over Steam while we wait for the game to be delivered. But maybe once we register on Steam we can't get the boxed version?

Woah! you're george lucas? I love you! You're my superhero!

Honestly I have no idea. I would suppose you only get one or the other. Cause once you've gotten the game though steam, couldn't you just sell the second, hard copy?

You have to pay S&H to have it shipped.
And yes, once it's live, you'll be able to play.
4-6 weeks later, the box will be at your house.

If you have already registered to account on Steam you can't get it sent to you.

I'm looking at my voucher and it says differently.

Man, I noticed you posting ALOT. Settle down a little. You post at least twice in one thread.

how did that whole voucher thing work? how are you going tob e able to play if it takes 4-6 weeks to deliver the game? did you already pre-load it on steam? how did that work....?

You can play if it's pre-loaded on steam.
Even after it's preloaded, you can have the box sent to you retail. I checked this with an ATI rep a while back.
But I'm just getting the gold edition. Already even made my DVD case.

is everybody really this stupid. How many ati voucher question threads can you have in one forum? read the voucher, or go to ati website it has all the info.

in case you cant figure out where ati is on the web heres the adress.
www.ati.com

and for the ati voucher FAQ go here.
https://www.atihl2offer.com/faq.asp

use the search so we dont have to sift though the BS.

Yes, you can download from Steam and have the CD-ROM sent to you.

ATI is sending a bundle copy (not retail). You won't get another CD-key. So, in effect even if you download from Steam and get the CD-ROM, you're only getting one copy.

also, the dont send you a "box". From what i have learned, all you get is the Half Life 2 CD in an envelope, no CSS or anything else.

George: You can either use it in Steam right now by scratching off the silvery junk and inputting that into Steam. However you will not be able to get a box version upon doing that, but you will have access to all the Half-Life 1 titles (besides Condition Zero unless you upgrade to Silver).

Your other option is to NOT scratch off that silver part and the you can send that into ATI and wait 4-6 weeks for delivery. However, you won't be able to play Half-Life 2 until the box ships in.

What do I suggest you do? I suggest you use the coupon, use it right now on Steam and that gives you everything a retail copy will have, plus Half-Life 1 titles if you want to see what it was like before Half-Life 2. Then wait a few months for the store prices to go down on the game or wait for a sale and then buy the retail boxed version.

So no you cannot send in the card and get it via Steam at the same time.

Yes, you can. Call the number for the HL2 offer and/or email a Valve employee that is familiar with the Steam system - Taylor for instance.

You can enter your key in Steam and request a copy from ATI. The ATI copy just includes HL2 content (not a boxed copy and hence no key). Like all HL2 packages, you must authenticate your key using a Steam account. As an ATI customer, you use the key that you already have.

you just pay extra for the S&H?? That's awesome, and kinda like payback for making us wait with coupons so long!

Yup I do believe they totally f**ked us over with these silly coupons.... They only give us the darn bronze edition too :(

Which is the SAME as the retail version. What did you expect?!
The CD shipping is meant for people who don't want to download the whole thing. (People on 56k modems for example.)

I think it's settled. You can get the discs and play on Steam until they arrive 4-6 weeks later.

Same as retail, but no HL:S...it was tht alone that made me upgrade my coupons to silver...but when you think about it, going silver, and getting all that stuff, as well as a HL:2 hardcopy disk...that ain't so bad, now is it? all that for $15...16 games...
