I'd like to say that I'm glad I came back here from a lengthy hiatus. This is by far the most mature and close-knit forum I've ever been a member of. I joined a couple months before the release of HL2, and for reasons unknown I stopped visiting regularly about a year after that. I guess part of that reason is because I lost contact with our old friend Shuzer after he quit, and it didn't feel the same.

Good to see many of the regulars I remember are still here, as well as some equally interesting newer members. I apologize for leaking memory lane all over the place, but thanks for making this site great!
 
I don't think his worthy of a post count reset. It's not like he's going, "WOO, check out my post count!"

It's simply a title in this case.
 
Eh a post count reset in this case would be a little harsh, it's not quite the same. Lots of people have gone, but many have come too. How dare you come and go as you please, do you think this is some kind of hotel!?

What kind of forums are you looking at? I visit at least three boards regulary and this one is the least mature, even if it is not really immature except in some cases.

Yeah, but we've developed a very tight-knit group here that I haven't seen on any other forum.
 
These forums are as mature as kicking your father in the balls then pointing and laughing at him as he rolls around on the floor.

By mature I mean able to hold intelligent conversations without it turning into all out war. Go take a look at Incrysis for an example of immaturity amongst it's users.
 
This is the only forum I go to.. Because it is REALLY hard to becoema regular on a forum, and this is the only one I've been on this long. Yaay hl2.net rocksorz

Man, what boards on the internet are YOU visiting? What're the other two, Uptight Gentleman's Discussio and Mrs. Prim's Internet Charm School Forum?

This place is the most civilized place on the internet that I visit. I often have to curtail myself here because I can't always say the first thing that comes to mind. And then I have to stop because I can't say the second thing that comes to mind either.

The maturity level here is leaps and bounds above most other places on the internet. Even the youngins here display remarkable maturity. You wouldn't even be able to tell some of them are kids.

Seriously what are the other places you visit? I gotta check this out.

Also, xkcd forums are pretty mature. Penny arcade forums are pretty damn intelligent, too. If kind of Hetairian.

I hope I'm being alluded to here, for the sake of my massive ego. :D

Only other forums I roll are Avatarspirit.net, mainly to argue with other Avatards and also to debate Religion with Creationist Religious Nuts. They have a fairly high moderating board who enforce a certain level of intelligence, but they tolerate idiots. But generally the idiots get the message and reform or bugger off somewhere.

I would say these boards are more intelligent than some of the places I visit, like gamespy and other such large, ugly sites, but its less mature than Collegeconfidential (of course) and RationalResponders. (the other boards I visit)
 
I'm definitely going to back up Darkside on the "people act much more mature than kids their age" statement.
 
I also agree.

The forums of most decent webcomes are pretty civilised actually. but that is because they are decent webcomes so mainly shitty people do not read them I guess.

Real awesome artistic skills there, bud.

CtrlAltDelete is one of the shittiest things I have EVER had the misfortune to read, and I've read Mega-****ing-Tokyo. Half the "jokes" aren't even funny, and half of THOSE are ripped directly from other comics like Penny-Arcade, like this little gem. Hey, nice going, the pig-faced loser and the bald guy did that SAME COMIC STRIP almost a year ago.

In fact the only way to make Ctrl-Alt-Del bearable is to remove 95% of all speech bubbles--which by the way make up 95% of any given comic (stop f*cking talking!)--and then cutting down the panels. Usually one to two panels will serve for most of CAD's jokes, but noooooooooooo, Buckley needs at LEAST four panels and a full page of written dialogue to kill--I mean, get the joke across.

CAD's friggin' terrible. The only good thing to ever come out of CAD was a picture of Player 4 shoving a pez dispenser up her vagina. Yay, hello pez.
