They may be drafting soon, so how will you react if you do get drafted? I personally (not to be all tough) would just suck it up and go, just as long as there was some kind of training so i was worth something other than a shield. Im in kickboxing actually (jkd to be specific) but it wont do any good to run around and try to punch or kick anyone when they are shooting at me. Although its not a just-war i would still fight for this nation.

Well, while I don't believe in the cause, I guess I would do it if I was. Granted, they will take one look at me and pass, but ya never know.

I doubt however that such a thing would ever be brought up. They talked about it in the first gulf war, and remember the outcry?

However if another attack hits America....:sniper:

Fogive the ramble-I'm beat :p

Shit!

I can see this turning into another Viet-Nam. They think the hippies are protesting now? Wait till they start drafting their kids...

Well that sucks :/ Let's hope it doesn't come to that...

Ill do what I have to do....

.....id really like to get the republicans the **** out of office though.....

If were american and was drafting age, got drafted id just tell them to fuc* off.

And you would be put in jail for a long time.

heh I can just see the fun I would have if I were on a draft board, picking who went.. oooh all those people who p*ssed me off in the past *insanely evil grin* damn I'd just not be able to stop myself ;)

I severly doubt that we're going to see the draft, if only just because both the military and the public hates it. The public hates it for obvious reasons, but the military hates having to put up with people who have been rushed through training, have no experience, that they likely would have rejected in the first place, and who have no motivation.
If we learned our lesson about anything in Vietnam, it was the large-scale draft.
Personally, I'd go. I've given thought to military service before, but concluded that I'm probably not the sort of person they're looking for.

It's where the government/military basically tells you "Train to become a soldier or go to jail."

It's probably not too bad.

Even if 2 soldiers got killed every day, you have like a 1/200,000 chance of being killed on any given day.

I would server and protect my country with my life like our four fathers. I am sure they would have wanted it that way

I think that they would have fought for their country so that one of the rights you would have would be the right not to be forced to fight. All four of them.

But that's just my opinion.:E

Damn this blows.. whats the drafting age? 18? And anyhow I have "flat feet" so from what I have heard, they wont draft me for that reason alone.

But seriously, I love my country but I wont fight its wars. Im a pansy, sorry.

I think they would have wanted you to spell them correctly. :D
"Forefathers"

Nah, they'll take you unless you're some sort of a cripple in a wheelchair.

exactly. They wil choose you if you skinny/weak whatever. As long as your not disabled and your on the list, your goin in, or to jail.

I live in Canada though, so its all good.

Hey if they give me a mouse and keyboard that controls a gun... those terrorists better beware :D I PLAYED CS!!!!! :p

Even then, if they're desperate, they might attatch a rocket launcher to the back of the chair, push you down a hill, and cross their fingers.

I wanted to jon the Army for a long time, if they draft me, then I won't have to worry about it. :)

hmm..Well, If I got a letter saying I was drafted, first thing I'd do is put it back in the mailbox and drive as fast as possible to the air force recruitment center.

"I never got that letter saying the marines recruited me sir"

no, I'm serious. Plus, for whatever reason, the marines/army woudlnt want me, something about flat feet....

if there's a draft, i'm moving back to the netherlands
screw nationalism
screw chauvanism
screw patriotism
