For those of you who think HL2 isnt that great

Mods: Please tell him to stop double posting

And Grim Fandango was the most revolutionary game in the past five years, even though it was made in 1997 and is sorely under-rated, and even though it isnt revolutionary in anyway, it just is.
No but really if you haven't bought it, buy it, its awesome, its like 10 bucks now and its just awesome.

And how can Half Life not be revolutionary, it has the best AI of any game to date? except the AI of the Skarj in Unreal 2 they were really really good. (Edit: I'm referring to dougy who said Total War was the most revolutionary game of the past five years, which he said like...16 or so posts ago...maybe i should keep up to date)

It aint no joke...

Ok i was lieing about splinter cell... but i beat mohaa and C&C Tiberian Sun and a few other games like dat... I dont hate Dues Ex but i think it was really hard. Maybe i was high on something? prolly not im 13...

Really good working as a team? Or separately?

You do know that an IQ above 200 is considered an umeasurable genius, yes? From the way you've been acting, I'd put you at around 100 IQ.

Errr... technically, to quad-post, they have to all be together with no one posting between them... :p

WaterMelon34 you're weird, you know that? You don't know what you're missing by leaving DX behind...

When the Skarj are as a team at the end of the game when you return to that marine base

Oh and WaterMelon34: Try playing DX all the way through, its an awesome game, like 10 bucks now, just awesome. Like Grim Fandango, an awesome really, just awesome, like 10 bucks now

i know i meant to say 150 SORRY BUT I FORGOT OKAY!?

150 is also very high, especially for a 13 year old.

Anyhow, back OT..
It's too bad I didn't really play HL until 2000, it didn't seem too revolutionary for me, but I still enjoyed it immensely.

150 on an IQ test and he can't spell triple properly

IQ tests are shit. Even *I* score high on them.

Yeah, it really does depend on the test, too. I've taken some pretty dumb ones, ones that had nothing to do with knowledge, just matching up shapes and stuff :|

lol, anyway, let's not get OT

I agree, DX is a good game, I just can't get myself to finish it.. I have DX:IW, and I can't get myself to finish that, either. I get distracted wayyy too easily :)

lmao... it didnt ask me dat. but yah im smart in my own way... like knowing wat game is rEALLY good and gettin good grades... and sicking peeps out ya kno.

DX:IW is a great game as well, although the area's in DX:IW aren't nearly as big as the ones in DX, which i dont like, and DX was longer and more intriguing then DX:IW, although the freedom in DX:IW makes it so much fun to play over again. which im doing for the 3rd time.
And WaterMelon34.....theres a time when you'll release you're fighting a losing battle, you're not there yet, but you will be there someday.....In a way its kinda like puberty....and im sure youre not there yet either

You're not too good at expanding your horizons.. give other games a chance, STALKER, FarCry, D3 -- they're all worth checking out.
HL2 may or may not be revolutionary, either way, it'll be good (more than likely), as will the others. I personally was partial to HL2 to the point where I said the other games sucked, then I opened my eyes. I'd rather have multiple options for gaming goodness, rather than one :)

I've never seen someone so happy to make a "Quadripple Post". His IQ is 250? Have you ever heard of Mensa?

I remember the first time I entered the Black Mesa ;( . It was like the most beautiful sunset, when you just stand there amazed by its beauty, speechless. I've been playing games since the times of DoomII but this was it! There was nothing like it before. The world, so meaningfull and diverse in total contrast to the endless halls of Quake 2 or Unreal(well, Unreal was much better than Q2). The scientists, talking to you, telling you good or bad news, the security guards helping you, the vending machines for gaining health, the trolleys and trains, and so on and on... There was nothing like it before. You should be there when the game was released, to understand its impact on the gaming standards of those days.

Fun's over, lets ban this pre-pubescent punk (WaterMelon that is)

I actually did get to play the demo when it first came out, I thought it was a work of art and I wished my computer could run it.. I did get to play through the whole thing, too. I was pumped, then forgot about it, 2 years later I had an 800MHz PC, so I just HAD to play the game I had for a year that my computer couldn't run

HEY! im just bored and all of dat "Hl2 is commin out IN LIKE 5 MILLION YEARS" stuff is gettin to me.

geez... MELLO... OUT...

is dues ex really dat good? it seemed so stupid to me since i couldnt get past first level... dat was on my first comp tho.. maybe i sucked then

Yah black mesa rocked.. i especially liked to cheat in the beginning of the game so i could get all weapons and ammo den id shoot barney in the head and see wat he'd say... it was always sumtin like "HEYHEYHEY! Stop that Mr.Freeman!"
and i loved it when the scientists would slam on the vending machines and curse. but i didnt like the further parts of the game, like "On A Rail" not cuz it sucked, just cuz it was kinda freaky and lonely.

There's a reason Sparta said what he said. Your behavior is not only erratic, but also uncalled for and childish (I'm trying to grasp the fact that 13 year olds are immature, but wow). I'm sorry, but if you can't understand why your constant triple posting and pointless comments like the one mentioned previously annoyed some, then I can't help you. Personally, it didn't bother me, I knew you were joking around, but it really had no place in the conversation.

Ok, just dont use gay in that context cause you'll be insulting everyone ok dude. And yeah Deus Ex really is that good, that game and Half Life are like reknowned for being 2 of the best games ever

K sorry, ill stop.........

3D Engine definitely, but ID make an actual game? I think I broke a rib laughing there.
An actual game? Please elaborate yourself there. Run-n-shoot style is not entirely bad for a game that was made in '93. In fact, it was a complete breakthrough compared with rest of the old FPS games that used scoring system. Plus, for doom 3 this time, id is putting a lot of juice into the game, so don't you make your judgement based on the history. :p

Actually the matching shapes thing tests your logic skills, by setting a certain pattern to them etc. Most anyone (if they can retain what they learn that is) can recite fact after fact. But logic in itself is a very difficult thing to master. The one test I took was made by people with doctorates, my IQ score on that test was 108 . And I'm 18, so I'm assuming thats a bad thing lol!.

Shifting topics...yeah Deus Ex is a good game, but I only have the demo version. However, I did experience difficulty with the game itself, the clunky interface didn't help and the fact that it wasn't compatible with my vid card made matters worse. Deus Ex's story, however, I did not find that intriguing. I'm not bashing the game in any way, thats just my opinion. I only read some story overviews of it, and played the demo briefly, so I don't know the entire plot obviously. But what I have experienced of the game I did not find that interesting. Maybe I didn't give the game enough of a chance. And yes I found the game difficult, and that definitely waned my interest.

HL was more captivating, I mean it wasn't simply a story of good vs. bad, but of cause and effect, and you were the cause. In the end, you actually sided (well HL2 assumes you did, anyway) with the the forces you had been fighting all along; most games rarely travel this route. Also, HL didn't just drop you off in the action, it actually put you into a virtual world, the first ten minutes of the game was what made it stand out. This was followed by incredible AI and immersion. This was the deciding factor for me...

Max35 which Deus Ex are you talking about? Invisible War or the first one?

The first one. Admittedly my computer is a pile of shit, but I just don't have the money to get a new one or even upgrade my current rig (if it CAN be upgraded). I think thats one of the things that made me lose interest in the game so quickly, that it looked like crap on my pc. I think thats where HL2 will succeed where DX: IW has failed, HL2 is compatible with old machines as humanly possible. DX: IW had heavy system reqs, well for me anyway. But I will say that the sequel does look compelling even though I won't be able to get it for a VERY long time :(

Well, when it comes out on Xbox you can rent it :D and if you have enough time and about 10 bucks you can buy Deus Ex from EB Games or somewhere

I think its pretty obvious that the stolen code is pre beta.. and the E3 video's where probably the real beta . God knows how brilliant its gonna be if E3 was beta stuff!, with the knowledge of it not being 'polished' off yet. Im even more exited. ;)

Its amazing how a game can totally turn a 180 from beta to demo! I witnessed this with the beta for far cry. I thought it was an ok game until I tried the demo the other day and I was like "WOW". Just think what HL2 will be like!!

I dug out my atari 2600 the other day just to see what it was like when i was growing up...I almost puked....Games are always going to get better as long as we have an imagination...people look down on us cause we are trying to escape...I say we just want to forget the crap life is feeding us by killing everything that moves..digitally of course...my dad loves to chop wood...that is what he grew up on ...choping wood is a reward for him..he;s contributing to the well being of the tribe...me I get off on killing things that only exist in someone elses imagination so to say Half life 2 is the best game ever made....just wait till next year....i've been promised virtual reality so much i cant even remember if i'm already in it or if i'm just crazy....but in the end who cares

Man that must of sucked. To have a perception of games in a younger life then revisit them some 5 to 10 years. You'd be like,"What were they feeding me with back then???" Maybe this is the reason I let the past alone, keeps my past image like it was. :D
