The FX cards are at best average with anything above DirectX8.1. NVidia really fell hard with those cards.

dont go for the 9800xt do not, I have a comp with a 3.2 ghz p4 1 gig of ram and a radeon 9800 xt, all settings on high, 1024X768 and no AA and AF on Trilinear and I drop down below 30 very often in CS:S which is ****ing not cool, but seems like no one here knows why and neither do i.

update your drivers...... and i think ati drivers are still in beta stages so expect crap fps..... :cheers:

Milkman, also you may have Vertical Sync on, which also could be the cause of that.
