Where can u get far cry demo the links at 3dgamers don't work and i usually get pretty fast downloads there.
 
i rekon its good that there is no demo , cause it takes away the un knowing of what it might be like

fry cry was alright , nothing tooo WHOOP about really.

Haha sorry, what you described there with the brace for impact reminded me of Milhouse playing Bonestorm getting like blown out of chair and all the lights flickering.
 
I realized that I'm not angry because HL2's delay. But because there wasn't ONE good game released in the past few months. And there won't be any time soon, either. A great deal of time will pass till we get our hands on anything worth playing, I tell you !

And I expect (and respect) STALKER a lot more than HL2.
 
well Half-life and its mods i guess will have to hold me out till hl2 comes.

The FAR CRY demo was......ok. I did enjoy playing it. BUT i thought it was going to be phsics the whole way, But it isn't. There are some boxes that don't move, and there are something that don't do phsics to wat i expected it to do.

I liked it when u die and the screen turns a grayish color and all the sounds go wierd lol liked that.

The Grpahics are great, But here and there i can see some mistakes (trees above ground level ((floating)) and at the start the little wooden covers. The very very first wooden platform you come to...Anyway if u go under it, there are some reeds floating in the air. Also the enermys EYES DON'T BLINK!!! No joke! there mouths move yea....But no eyes blink..go into the game and watch one of the enermy for ages..his eyes won't blink.

In Hl2 their eyes blink, their eyes blink in the way of light shining in their eyes...their PUPILS get smaller and BIGGER when it is DARK AND LIGHT!!

This game has thought of everything!

Did you Ever think that for hl2 E3 you would see g-mans pupils getting bigger and smaller!!!!! i sure as hell didn't!

I did like the game but NO WAY will it EVEN be close to HL2! Still going to buy far cry though hehe.

i want to go complete HL again...but i completed it again for like the 5th time last 2months! love that game, how you can click on any al and they will talk. follow you and you can leave them behind.

Did any of you out there feel sorry with a scientist when you clicked on him to tell him to stay here and not follow. I did because sometimes the scientist said.."Slowing you down am i".. "please don't leave me here." Because of when the scientist said that, I wanted to make him follow me out of pity for him! I wanted to keep him alive as long as i could...the game made me feel something for that scientist. Made me feel like he was real!

Also i loved the bits in hl when the elevator was down, and u had to jump to the other side to the ladder.. Reminded me of an action movie. Also the scientist at the top hanging on for life, felt like i was the Main character in the movie and had to go save him! I even called out once and said "HOLD ON" LOL then heh fell......And i know it was my turn to grab on to that same ladder.

Love HL and i know HL2 will be either around the same greatness in story or better.

HL2 will rock people and i know we will be on this forum near the days of release...And this forum will be deserted (EVEN by the makers of this site) And will be playing this game to the full.

We will all eventually be back on this forum saying the greatness of the game, asking for help on the game...asking about how to do things on the SDK...map releases..loads.

Love the moment the game is first out and people start to make levels. I DL every SP map i find even if the level is bad.

I loved some of the HL Custom made SP levels out there.

There was a DARKSTAR SP level that was so so great it blown me away!

I made levels for MOHAA 3 singleplayer campaign levels with story and edge of seat action and it got rated best out there.

Making levels for COD (call of duty) at the moment.) But when HL2 arrives i will be puttin all my map making and story ideas into making a SP story for HL2 :D can't wait!

Valve will always be the best! Never suck.

Commando, your first post really cheered me up, thanks! I'm starting to feel the same level of excitement as you do.. :D

I have a theory of how it'll be : I enter the store with a nice set of cash in my wallet, and the second I see the HL2 box my whole body starts shaking and it'll feel like bubbles inside my veins.. I'll buy it and hurry to the bus that'll take me home.. The way home in the bus will be the longest waiting time ever , and I will not be able to think of anything but HL2. I'll peek in the manual some maybe..

When I step off the bus I'll hurry home and just throw my clothes in a mess and just turn on the computer (that I've made as "ready" as it could be a couple of days before the release, all defragged and lots of stuff deleted and uninstalled, cache scandisk virus scan , you name it.. I might even format the comp to get maximum performance) , and reading the manual during the installation, I'll also head over to this forum that has exploded with HL2 is released weezzz threads, and celebrate some myself and then say "I'll be back in a week".. "Success!" All done, I slowly move my mouse to the 'Play' in the game launcher and *click*.

I watch the ads , I'm about to burst with excitement.. I'll head to the options (as everyone here) and taking care of every single setting like I was taking care of a little child.. If there isn't a 'recommended' GFX setting ( If there was I'll up the character detail just abit if it is automatically lowered) I'll take care of everything, compromising and imagine what's the most important ..

*click* "New Game" .. "Normal" . *Loading*

I'm bursting the second I get to control the character view by my own. I jump around the room and shout and celebrate, this is the moment I've been waiting for so long. Soo long. I slowly go back to my seat and listen to the instructing voice if there is one, and start trying the movements.

To be concluded at the release of HL2.

Yeah I might sound like a mad freak but damnit, this game will pwn j00r box0rss. And I hope some people here are feeling the same way I am.
 
WoW Nice one CRAZYHARIJ! So true all what you said there man! Made me feel that days are going that bit faster towards april.

I Will look at the Installing persent to see if there is any ingame pics rotating while it loads.

But when i have gone through the ads, options, tutorial...When i finally get to playing the game actual game after tutorial...WOW i can't explain what i will feel then. Just the Fade in to the game will make me laugh with enjoyment.

I can't wait to see the intro of the game.

I think Gabe said the game gets you straight into the story...and then during the game it will eventually tell you how HL and HL2 combine. (like the end of hl to the start of hl2.)

So i have no idea what valve have done and how they are going to make this right!?

i think you should build you mashine before hand. that way not only do you get used to the mashine but when you have HL2 it will all be ready to put alot on high then set it low for the first time you try this game.


Also in the tutorial......I can see myself spending SO SO SO SO SO SO SO many hours playing with phsics!! Valve spend like most time on the phsics so it is bound to be the best aspect of the game!
I love phsics! So i am going to spend all the time in the world on the tutorial phsics! LOL.

Just seeing a dead body falling down the stairs will make me want to watch it.

Or if i kill an enermy near the ledge, i will get my crowbar out and start hitting the body off the edge and watch it!! LOL can't wait.
 
I find it hard to even think about the release, or what i'm gonna do when it's released. The waiting is unbearable lol, but it'll be worth it :D

I'll just live my life in 'the real world' untill halflife2 comes out :D ( then it might be a less 'real world' ) :}

Six Three, when Dougy said "valve are a joke" he was just making fun of when commando said "valve are the best" (i think).

anyway, when HL2 finally hits the stores I am gonna be happy as hell. having bk around and knowing everything is set just the way i like it is gonna be one hell of a day. that night i won't even be able to sleep cause i know when i wake up im IMMEDIATLY going to start playing hl2. ill take a semester of school off and just play hl2 all day.
 
i really hope it comes out on a friday so i got all weekend to play it. as much as i want to i dont think ill be loosing ne college over it :(
 
As soon as I here it has gone gold, I will either take my comp in for upgrades, or buy a new one, undecided so far. As soon as the stores know more about what kind of versions they will be selling, I'll be into the EB where I have it reserved to make sure I have the Collectors Editon reserved. And then once its out and my comp is all ready to go.......PLAY PLAY PLAY!!!!! (escept for when I'm at work :( )
 
I think I will do the exact same thing as you guys...but that reminds me of a time not so long ago that I had the same "excitment" for. And that game was Half Life. I remember seeing the reviews for it "HL was the first FPS I ever played on computer" and As I attained the box and marveled at the casing, I quickly brought it home and carefully slit open the plastic sticker. I reveled in amazment at the completly black cd with only the words "Half Life" on it and watched as it slid into my computing machine.

i remember the load screens and the anticipation...I imagine it will be the same for HL2
 
I'll buy the game, probably play it for a while, and hopefully enjoy it.

Sorry. I was you about four years ago. Things kind of get put in perspective after a while.

I hope it comes out early April, that way I get easter vacation to play, and that way I can play it before my dad goes away to korea for a couple weeks (I'll be at my mom's then with no computer), and before the new golf season starts.

WTF? pupils do not react to light in any way in HL2 you're either on drugs (well u are anyway) or are thinking of MOH: Pacific Assault.

Personally to get this excited over a game is a bit sad. If you're this excited about a game i dread to see what your day to day life is like, it must be dull. Get a girl-friend or something.

Anyway im still looking forward to HL2 but Valve did not put all their assets into HL2 for us, they did it to make even more money. duh. Come this September HL2 should be pretty fun.
 
Thnaks a lot, now im hyped about HL2 again. Personally im going to clean up my comp a bit, move EVERYTHING off my desk apart from the HL2 box (i'll stick the crap in some corner where I can't see it) and some snacks. I'll close every program except windows (and a firewall) for maximum performance, push my GF4 Ti4200 up to the pre-tested highest overclock I can get. Then i'll start HL2, watch the ads, put the settings up to max, watch a few seconds of the tutorial, if its jerky at all start (sadly) lowering the settings. Then ill prob play the tutorial 3 times and start the game!

Damn, I never realised what a geek I can be. Damn the person who started this thread! :)
 
I also plan on takeing hl2's release date off :imu:
il clean a space for hl2 on my desk unwrap it from its collectors edition garments and plastic wraping check out ever little do-dad in the box and EXTREMELY carefully slide the disk into the trey il make sure I have enough food and water to sustain me for a couple of days in case I just cant get off, oh and il make sure my wastes are clear from my body when I begin il boot up the hazard course and tweak every little performance setting to suit my messed up little dell and so it looks pretty and still plays well. then upon exploring the menu's control and options and exploring every aspect of the new hud engine ect. and pageing through the files of the game I will begin a new game on medium and mess around with physics and every other new feature... you can pretty much tell the rest

oh and when the sdk comes out im sure il play around with that as well

I bet this thread is really pleasing to Valve, and it should be. Ahh....I cant wait for the day. I am now saving (I sadly put it off) for a 9800><T (keyboard messed up, wont make an "><" for some reason). I will then get a liquid cooler, and overclock my 2500+ to 3200+. I cant wait to see the game at EB or wherever....I will slowly grab, as I dont want to scratch the interior....then, when I get home...awww.....I will also clean my desk, insert the DVD SLOWLY and CAREFULLY into the drive, and wait for it to load....I will then make everything perfect, to my likeing. Argh, gotta go...
 
You guys sound like this is gonna be the best game EVER and that you can not possibly live without it, you know what? Im gonna do the same thing now cause im bored :( Happy time now! :D

I just think commando is over reacting, I understand over reacting about something big like "OMFG THEY FOUND MARTIANS ON MARSORZZZZ!!!11!!" But come on, every single detail, its like Ok im gonna open the box, slowly, and take out the cd, carefully and... its just really wierd..
