The Nihilanth in the end of HL1 speaks "you are man, he is not. for you he waits". Gordon could be the "master" without knowing it , i dont know what he would be master of , a big thing , kindda' like Neo in The Matrix..

Could be that G-Man has a much more powerful man by his side and he dosnt even know it himself , so Gman uses that.

Flame me till your balls turn green...

I guess I thought "he" was the G-man...he was waiting for you at the end of the game. It's very possible that he isn't human, he could be alien directing the invasion or a minion of the "admistrator" who is directing the invasion.

Or maybe "he" is the administrator. Who knows.

edit: by "he" I mean the one who is waiting and not human, not the g-man (necessarily)
 
I think the weirdest sound that wasn't played in the game was
"Last.... I am..... the last....."
 
He says a number of things actually:

And here is something I discovered myself:

Internally in the script if you accept the G-Man's offer, it plays the "TRAITOR" sequence. If you reject the offer it plays the "LOSER" sequence. Hmmmmmmm.

He is not the administrator, Valve said HL2 will be the first time we see him.

I think the G-Man may be an alien but I'm not sure. Everyone knows about the Nihilanth quote but what kind of got me thinking was in Opposing Force the G-Man says to Shepard "My employers are not quite so trusting and rather than continually subjective to the irresistible human temptation of telling all, we have decided to convey you somewhere you can do no possible harm." You would think if he was human himself he wouldn't say that but who knows.
 
I am *so* going to get flamed for this... but...

Where can I find an outline of the half life 1 storyline? Never played through it, and my parents won't let me get a job right now (have to get 80-90s in school, bleh). I'll buy the collectors edition soon, but I'm saving up so I can get HL2 on the 30th.

he says

I have an odd feeling that the G-man is something like the 'cencer man' in the X-files... you know the guy that smokes and works for the CIA?

Maybe the G-man isn't quite human and he maybe could have a war against the aliens...

plus, the gman is almost everywhere, he's not attacked by aliens, and he can teleport himself :)

Another funny thing: I have the french version of the game, and the sentence nil_notman.wav is, if my translation is correct: "not finished, it is not finished".

What I thought when I first heard those sounds, is that Nihilanth is just repeating what another scientist said. (Saw that dead orange-suited scientist lying at the end of Xen ?). It could explain the: "slaves, we are their slaves" sentence.
Let's suppose the Gman is an alien. He talks to the scientists crew, and forces them to use the cristal: to create that portal !
everything is possible, but the best thing we can do is to wait for the game to be on our hard-drives...

Maybe Gordon will discover his true ID (THE ONE). in HL2 and he safe the planet earth in HL3.

Just like Matrix1+2 Neo discover himself in Matrix3 he will kik Agent SMITH'S Butt
 
Damn, I love these G-Man conspiracy threads! I think G-Man had a lot to do with the portal error, and he now regrets his doings.
