Fortress Forever Update

The embodiment of Team Fortress is teamwork using 9 classes (or 10 for escape maps). The concept behind Fortress Forever is to improve upon every aspect of Team Fortress that has gone unnoticed or ignored over the years. Much of what is going on behind the scenes at FF is coding and working with the entity system to ensure that everything will be in proper working order. [br]</br>The soldier class is most utlitized of all classes in all Team Fortress mods because of the rocket launcher. In this update, rebo has the modeled soldier ready to go (who looks eerily like Bruce Willis :K) [br]</br>Not to be outdone, his buddy decs has skinned the hands for Fortress Forever, as well as giving us a great shot of the demoman's grenade launcher.[br]</br>Last, but certainly not least, the Trepid mapping team have worked a bit more on Hunted and given us a couple more shots of the classic map. It is looking very polished by the screenshots! [br]

Would be nice if they had some elements from NeoTFC, seeing as that's what I'm always playing.... Probably not though.

NeoTf will pop up later after the release by some determined chap like you...enjoy this for now...they are keeping it true to Team Fortress and adding tweaks and extras where necessary..

the one mod to rule them all.

I CANT PLAY ANY MORE WORLD WAR 2 GAMES

never was a fan of TF
i like the way the way they are interpreting the levels, although, they dont look very interesting, just boring everyday stuff i guess...

have you looked at all the maps on their site? Hunted is a 'realistic' map setting...this mod will rock. funfactor to the power of my ninja.

I'm looking forward to this one.TFC was a ****ing burst!! Ludicrous on-line action. A good antidote to CS (as far as HL related mods go).

Those guys are mAd!! The G/L gun and the soldier looks awesome! Hunted looks nice to.

The hands are kinda "stupid" though
 :burp:

umm, has anyone else noticed that the soldier's arms look a bit... long? His forearms are waaaay out of proportion.

Nope, didn't notice that. Any shorter and it would look silly. To me, anyways.

I think his legs are too short...

They have the same proportions as the css models, I had the same thing with the models for my mod.

well if they do that i hope they leave it as an extra feature only. they need to leave it open for all different gametypes of tfc. i myself like playing basic unmodded team fortress classic. though i do have lots of fun on admin op servers, the option to play a regular team fortress style game should be available.

I think that he's pretty much in proportion, and yes... He does look like Bruce Willis....

The first look at the hands made them look small to me.... But then I looked at my hands and realized it wasn't all that bad. I have freak hands too!

hah.

I'm very stoked for this mod...

I am also hoping, however, that that soldier model is not the in-game, and is a high poly version... That model looks quite detailed...

No worries that is the highpoly version model used to create the normals for the lower poly versions.

This mod is going to be great beyond words.

rofl... me was thinking the same too... just wanted to post that the model just looks like old brucy... :D

Cant wait for this mod. But there last map screenshots are so much better then these. Hope they dont have a skill gab.

note to self: Must not get too excited

Looks fantastic, they have a lot of content now so hopefully it continues to completion. Ragdolls, with high res models and better maps and textures + tfc = happy fun times. I've gotten excited again, brain overload.............arrrgggggg
*head blows from excitement*

Look closely... it is the "low" poly model with the normal map applied. It shows in the hands.

Finally, I can rocket jump while pretending to be one of my favorite actors. My day has come!

And personally, I never liked NeoTF. Which is crazy, considering the head programmer Hitokiri Battousai was one of my clanmembers for a very long time.

Upon closer inspection, you are right of course. Can't wait for it skinned :D

nah it's just that the Hunted map is leaning on the "realism" side (like the original HL1 map) so it looks sorta HL2-ish.

but even if they did have a skill gab, the maps that they have right now are more then enough to release the mod with.. not before they make 2forts though :D u can't release Team Fortress mod without ****ing 2forts in it:cheers:

Who wants to bet that valve waits until the day this comes out to announce that TF2 is done and will be out in a week?

That might be kinda cool, because instead of bein' like an ignored stepchild, we'd at least be like an acknowledged stepchild. Must be our red hair that's causin' all the problems.
