Fortress Forever Update

When you think about Team Fortress for the Source engine, odds are, you don't think about VALVe these days. This is mostly because of the lack of updates regarding a Sourcefied version of TFC. It's more likely that you think about Fortress Forever, the mod being developed by veterans of the TFC community in both Europe and North America. [br]
Heralding one of the most active mod forums around, Fortress Forever has the potential to be one of the premier mods upon its release.[br]
Today's update revolves around weapon models, something they have not really showed much of until today.[br]

Another sexy looking update.

I still can't wait :D

unskinned render galore lol im just jokin i love the update but i have a problem with the bazooka thingy lol its not up to par witht he other guns shown in this update.

they peobly jus did it so that the community doesent think there doing nothing :p

looks nice.. just the contrast is so big between this and update of Red Orchestra :| but fotress forever is doing great, keep up the nice work
:)

Red Orchestra looks fantastic but remember that is a commerical game by a game company. Fortress Forever is being put together by mainly TFC fans who do the mod in their free time.

We see no shame in putting out unskinned renders for news as we like to keep the community informed about stuff we are working on. I love seeing how mods develop and sometimes enjoy that more than just seeing the finished article.

The FF guys have always shown unskinned media renders to the public, not sure if its such a great idea anymore now that they are well into development, but thats up to them.

The shots look lovely, both nailguns are really good works. But as mentioned above, the RPG/Bazooka model really doesn't look right for some reason. Also, with the unskinned colour tinting, a lot of people will think its skinned (silly I know, but it happens often).

Keep up the good work guys

their showing off unskinned guns? odd for such a prestegious mod...
They've always shown their stuff unskinned before it was skinned, iirc.

To be honest I'm not at all impressed, yes the models look great, but showing 3 unskinned renders hardly does it for me, is that all that's been done?

I know that's not how it works (being on a mod team myself), but I like to see media from more than one department, and if it is just models, they could at least have them skinned.

is it just me or is anyone esle getting bored at the 400 thousand media released for 300 thousand different mods since hl2 was released and no mods released yet, its boiling my piss to be honest. Impress me with a tight release of a killer mod, not unskinned/skinned renders

mbrithoms, you seem to forget to realise that making a "killer" mod for HL2 takes a lot longer than it would for HL1 and as yet, it has only been a year since the release on HL2.

indeed
kudos to the teams who have released killer mods already
dystopia, hidden:source, hl2dm pro, ctf, garry's mod et al

Here's my advice, don't check up on hl2/mod news for another 6 months, and maybe you will have some mods to play by then... *maybe*.

please reserve judgment till you see the skinned RPG version muahahah :naughty:
