fortzombie

Looks god awful.
I can't believe it's by the people who made the quite underrated Sword of the Stars.

It does look bad. Has anyone actually bought it yet?

With the much better publicised L4D2 coming out around the same time, I'm surprised they think there's a market for this.

It's probably the best time for it. Capitalizes on L4D2's hype and rides its coattails.

My friend is addicted to that game. He plays it non-stop. And he's never even finished a bloody mission in it!

Yeah, i am surprised that it is being made by the Sword of the Stars devs. That came was critically well received and had a lot of depth. This looks very low budget.
I saw a gameplay trailer of it the other week. The framerate is abysmal and the animations look horrible.

I'm not sure that's what this is. Zombie apocalypse games have never really needed to capitalise on each other; the fanbase is there already for them.

I think this is just bad timing to release a bad product. Given the option between spending a little more on L4D2 or a little less on this, I know what people are going to choose.

This game isn't even multiplayer!

How the **** can you have a fort building zombie defense game without multiplayer?

Because the main focus of these devs and all their games is Single-Player, not Multiplayer?:cheese:

That's because it is low-budget, their full financial priority lies with their open-ended space-RPG under development titled "Northstar"

Basically from what I've gathered Fort Zombie is basically a cheap way to generate some new income into the company which has probably been a bit strained due to the economic crisis and also to test out some other stuff that might be related to Northstar(IIRC they use the same basic engine so it'll probably work as a testing ground for Northstar)

Also, for games that look worse than this, check out http://www.mdickie.com/

And at least the games from Kerberos are always fun to play, which is more than I can say for the games from above guy.

Anyway, I am actually quite looking forward to this, read a lot on the forums, seen what the devs said, they're a talented bunch and I have no doubt it will be a very fun game.

Also, this is not in any way comparable to say 'Tower-defense' games or L4D2, this game focuses on management of resources just as much as it does killing zombies, you have to choose what to do, maybe try to find new supplies, try to find survivors, maybe spend time building fortifications etc.

It's more of a 'zombie survival simulator' rather than a 'zombie shooter' ala L4D.

I have to admit that the concept is pretty great. But the shitty presentation (the website and promotional photos chosen) don't inspire a lot of hope. That and I'm not familiar with their past work.
