Forza 2 Release day - getting a copy ?

I'm gonna break down tomorrow and head out to Best Buy and pick a copy up, got tons of money from graduation I need to spend
 
Yeah, I've been addicted to this game for the past few days.

Went out and bought the wireless wheel with force-feedback. Yeah, this game is a dream.

how is the wheela anyways?! ive been considering picking it up myself but it seems to have gotten alot of mixed reviews
how is the quality? does it feel sturdy? does the table mount work properly?
do the pedals give adequate resistance or are they really light to the touch?
i'd appreciate an honest, critical review of it! thanks :E

More like supporting the store, the distributor, society as a whole...etc. It's not that he's jealous or you've "found a loophole", its because you're an immoral prick who thinks its "okay" to give his friend 20 bucks to steal from a respectable institution.

Got my copy 3 hours ago, I ****ing LOVE IT. In Forza 1 the cars didn't have much life to them, but the feeling of watching a crappy stock car go to a 600-hp racer is amazing, I liked that they gave tires their own section now too

To be critical:

The wheel itself is pretty solid to me.
Good quality.
Haven't tried the table mount, but the lap works just fine for me.
The Pedals don't give a ton of resistance, but they aren't light either. Dead weight will push them down, but hey, it isn't bad enough to bother me.

This is the Microsoft one I'm speaking of.

Oh, and if anybody wants to go for a run, I'll be on in about 45 mins, my GT is: Ne0fyte

Just got back from playing for a bit. Ill add you tomorrow Dalamari, maybe we can run then.
Also, after re-evaluating the pedals on the wireless wheel, they are plenty stiff for me.
 
Just thought i'd add my own view on the wireless wheel and pedal set.

Firstly, the overall build quality is very good, the wheel itself is put together very solidly and feels like a quality item, however, the point at which the steering wheel enters the base unit has far too much give, which lets down the overall feel slightly (i've had 2 units, both have suffered from the same problem, and i've read the same in many places).

The force feedback is fairly strong, but probably less so than is realistic, ideally it would be a touch stronger, but tbh this is a small point, as the quality of the feedback in Forza2 in particular is great.

The pedals have a good amount of resistance, but what bugs me is that the brake pedal has exactly the same resistance as the accelerator, which isn't realistic. Brake modulation would be a lot more precise if the brake pedal was more stiffly sprung (i'm sure that can be fixed with a DIY job though !)

Overall, very pleased with it. Not perfect, but a great item nonetheless.

Perhaps you could try the Squashball mod that people commonly perform on their Logitech MOMOs to beef up the resistance.

Take apart the pedals and wedge a small exercise ball underneath the break pedal to give it a tad more resistance.

I'll prolly do it to mine as soon as I can get my hands on a quality ball :)
 
Yeah, i think i might give that a go, seems like a fairly simple and inexpensive fix.

Yeah, just had to fiddle around with circles and the rectangles for a while. I was going to do some more stuff on the side but had to go to work.

Breaking down and buying this game tomorrow. I swear, everybody is playing it. I've been wanting to play a good race game for a while now.

That's awful expensive for a racing wheel. I'd hope it was an insanely quality wheel for 100 USD :P

It was $150 with project gotham 3, but they have lowered the price in conjuncion with the release of Forza 2 - so I've read.

Anyway, it does come with a game that was $59.99 when released, but is probably a lower price now.

Still though, it's a force feedback wheel. I checked it out in the store in the box. Seems like it's pretty good, though I don't think it has a shifter - just the paddle shifter on the wheel. I like the old school shifters too depending on the car I'm driving in the game.

I would prefer if I could hook up a $250-$300 G25 logitec PC racing wheel through the USB. Wonder if that would work for games correctly. The steering wheel, pedals, and shifter have aluminum parts. :naughty:

I spent practically all last night working on getting my cars built up. I've spent about 50,000 credits on my camaro, and I use other cars that i've won (not upgraded) to win all the money. Just about an hour ago I had almost 250,000 :D
 
Got this game a couple days ago, simply amazing!
 
I'll probably pick this game up tomorrow. Hopefully it has longevity and I can play it most of the summer while i'm out of school.

I will have a Ferrari at least later today, I unlocked the v12 Ferraris last night as I was about to get off. The Asians get it at level 23 I think.
Also, I've had the Lamborghini Gallardo unlocked for some time.

Man, I haven't stopped playing this game for like the past week.
