Wait, so you blamed Bush and Blair, not America? So would that mean seinfeld mislead us once again?CptStern said:No Limit: this is the post seinfeldrules was referring to ..I dont think my statement needs clarification
HUME: Well, maybe. The other thing is, of course, people have -- you know, the market was down. It was down yesterday, and you know, you may have had some bargain-hunting going on. I mean, my first thought when I heard -- just on a personal basis, when I heard there had been this attack and I saw the futures this morning, which were really in the tank, I thought, "Hmmm, time to buy." Others may have thought that as well. But you never know about the markets. But obviously, if the markets had behaved badly, that would obviously add to people's sense of alarm about it. But there has been a lot of reassurance coming, particularly in the way that -- partly in the way the Brits handled all this, but also in the way that officials here handled it. There seems to be no great fear that something like that is going to happen here, although there's no indication that we here had any advance warning.
jondyfun said:Both of you. This isn't a pissing contest, I don't give a **** whose stain is higher up the wall. But your constant hyperbole about 'righties' and 'lefties' and whatever makes me want to put my head under a bus.
Enough of the 'my team is better than your team' bullshit, it's ****in' pathetic.

CptStern said:jondyfun you're being unfair here ..the topic is ABOUT partisanship. you cant discuss this issue without bringing up left and right because the article in question is about how certain sides of the fence use this sort of tragedy to justify THEIR agenda ...same thing happened during the madrid bombing...fox"news" was just as repulsive in their coverage back then
My post wasn't meant to be that hostile, I have absolutely no problems with you. But understand; I have been trying to have a moderate tone but I get attacked at every turn around here for being too partisan. Well yeah, I am a liberal so I really don't know what else people expect. This is the politics board so I am extremely opinionated as everyone should be; when you post telling me to cut it out, as others have done in the past, it gets a little annoying. But again, with a couple minor exceptions I have no problems with you nor most other people on this board, Republican or Democrat and hope people feel the same about me.jondyfun said:Yeah, you're absolutely right, sorry people, just been really stressed out these past couple days and this article kindof tipped me over the edge.
No Limit, compare you and Stern's posts relating to mine; Stern says exactly the same thing, minus the arrogance... seriously, it's not cool
awwww... group hug :E .... seriously though, i have no quarrels with you, you're fun to argue with and seem alright.. and if you like Hershey's then you're moneyNo Limit said:My post wasn't meant to be that hostile, I have absolutely no problems with you. Speaking of chocolate; you guys need to eat european chocolate (especially polish); none of this processed American crap beats it.
He was not talking about this being a good thing because we will be all united; he was saying that this will be good thing since all the world leaders are together at the g8 summit now and will talk about terrorism instead of aid to Africa or global warming.
But it's important for them all to be together. I think that works to our advantage, in the Western world's advantage, for people to experience something like this together, just 500 miles from where the attacks have happened.
I dont remember Bush giving the orders for British troops to assist in Iraq. Are you calling the British mere American puppets?you ARE to blame
This is a disaster, it certainly has the potential to cause more unification in the western world and no one can deny that is a good thing.
I don't like Fox but assuming that was what was meant by that quote then I have to agree. This can work to the Western worlds advantage.
Again Seinfeld, this is a topic about London and how Fox claims it was a good thing.
