The thing is they don't own this film in particular, they now just own distribution rights for a watchmen movie. Now the way around this is going to end up being Warner Brothers just paying Fox a large sum of cash, but theres always the chance Fox can be gigantic assholes about this and decide they want to make their own Watchmen movie.
