hey. I have Needforspeed Most Wanted all set on high, it gives me 25-30 FPS on my computer, which is really good (the computer). And I have EP1, which gives a solid 65-70 FPS all on high. What gives?

Some games are more demanding than others.

Source games have always been very lax on system requirements considering the graphics.

Unsurprising, since the Source engine has been in development for a very long time, whereas all these EA games typically have a development cycle of 2 years or less.

And some are coded much more optimized and even looks better while others are just crap.

I'll let you decide which one is which

Need for speed was also released on a bunch of platforms....so the engine isn't very well optimized for PC.....
Source on the other hand; well its been around a few years now and since steam allows valve to update it as much as they want, its probably one of the best engines optimation wise in existence at the moment.

For me it's the opposite way round 30-35 FPS for NFS MW on high and 10-12 FPS for episode 1 on low on dx7 mode worse than Obilvion
