Looks awesome.

Downloading now, hope it's decent.

Do I need anything to play this, other than just downloading?

Weapon ripped from Killzone2? Animation looks similar too.

Well, played a little. Extremely rough around the edges, but for a very early alpha demo it impresses. Bastard hard and I still don't know whether the machine gun hurts the machines, I resorted to using the grenades, but it has a tense atmosphere from the off.

Also, no graphics or control options at the moment. A promising start though.

No, except a lot of patience.

Well then I'll wait till it's finished.

So far from the videos the level design seems terrible. Convenient metal plates sticking out of the ground EVERYWHERE.

A for effort though.

Yeah, it looked to me just like a series of "advance from one convenient piece of cover to another while shooting occasionally"
I thought the whole point of the war against the machines was that the humans had to use guerilla tactics, as they were generally outnumbered and outgunned.

Seems to be the formula of a lot of games these days.

Was about to be all over this bitch until I actually watched the video.
Looks extremely boring.

I think it has potential. It seems like the terminators should be way more lethal?

Looks like every other generic boring piece of shit FPS.

I think most of you are losing sight of the fact it's done by one guy and will be a free game.

Why can't somebody release a Terminator game that isn't complete and utter crap?

I haven't played a good Terminator game since the arcade days.

So because of this we should ignore the fact thats its generic and boring? I haven't played it but the envoiroments looks incredibly dull, the terminators just stand there while you shoot them and I really cannot stand games that just throw in loads of basic walls everywhere as cover,

Also why is the player using assault rifles, why are they even in the game? Bullets cannot harm the machines, the resistance as you see in the first terminator film, had to steal the pulse weaponry from the machines for a reason.

A regular assault rifle is capable of inflicting damage, but is neither the fastest nor the most effective method to disable a terminator. Skynet, in favor of maintaining a cutting-edge and powerful arsenal, would likely discontinue the production of regular ammunition and firearms, making a plasma-based arsenal the only practical type of arsenal to maintain.

Get Fallout: Tactics, if you want to play a decent Terminator game...

;)

No, but perhaps you should realise that this is a very early demo. The environments look exactly as you'd expect it to look being based on T1's future with all the broken walls and wire fencing. It's not about them placing shedloads of cover for the sake of it, this is how it appears in the movies. As for Terminators just standing there, that's all they did in the future section of T2, walk incredibly slowly will firing off massive guns, which is what the do in this demo. Give the guy some slack, it's going to be free and it can already be seen the guy has put some hard work into this.

Assault rifles don't harm machines? Shoot an engine block a few times with an M16 and then try driving it.

Are engine blocks constructed of hyper-alloy?

In the movies, Terminators were pretty much immune to "normal" weaponry.

The T-600s were able to be taken down with Assault Rifle and Light Machine Guns since they were from an outdated design and their outer alloy wasn't thick enough. The T-800s (and above) are made out of reinforced Titanium Alloy, which normal assault rifle rounds (or even .50 caliber rounds if thick enough) can't penetrate. Unless you had an assault rifle that would fire Depleted Uranium (or some other special armor piercing rounds) and would eject the rounds with enough velocity. But the resistance had to make do with whatever they could find, and couldn't make such weapons. So they had to settle with stealing Skynet's more high tech weapons.

Go for the optics. Or motors. A Terminator isn't a walking sphere of ultra-thick plating - it's a machine created from the blueprint of a human. As such, it has all the vulnerabilities of one - joints, for one.

Or the heart. Tell it that nobody loves him and that he doesn't even have any parents and nobody would want to be his mom or dad even if they could.

Then watch as he jumps off a cliff or shoots himself in the head.

I remember in the movies when it showed scenes of the war, it always seemed like the humans were being completely steamrolled by the machines. I don't like it when they bring out a game that balances the sides just for gameplay's sake.

Bring out a game where we can play as a rewired machine under the control of the humans, like the T3 game for ps2.

Hell yeah! I wanna do that scene from T1. Bust in, dogs bark at me, and waste every human man woman and child in my sight!!!! :sniper:
