This may have been done before however...

I'd like to see results once more, and again now that we all have even better systems than ever...

All you have to do is...

Download my .dem that I made of the trainstation, and save it to:
[Drive steam was installed on]:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\[your e-mail]\half-life 2\hl2

Then open HL2, and before starting a game or anything, open console and type 'timedemo trainstationfps'. transationfps, or coarse, is my .dem file.

entering timedemo will give your a fps rating after the demo is over. Post those results here by copying and pasting the single line given after the demo, and maybe include a little something about your results (something in your oppinion, etc). ALSO, REMEMBER TO POST VIDEO SETTINGS ALONGSIDE...

DOWNLOAD DEMO HERE (attachments didn't wanna work) : DOWNLOAD
(Sorry about rapidshare, my yahoo account would have file exceeding) Just click the free button and then wait the (approx.) 60sec before downloading...

My Results:
12242 frames 158.247 seconds 77.36 fps 3.700 fps variability

Oh sorry... Yeah... 1024x768, everything else, highest, 4x AA, 4x AF

Nice.
Although that won't be comparable with those who use his settings with AA and AF at 4.

I'm busying playing wow. :p I'll post mine in a bit.

That's nice, Alan Freeman... What are your pc stats? I noticed pentium 3.2 in the console... What else?

ALSO- DX7,8,9?

ALSO---

Redid my test to see what it'd be w/ same stats except 8x af...

12242 frames 171.119 seconds 71.54 fps 4.160 fps variability

Not too bad. Everything's same except AF... And more processes this time... Limewire downloading music, trillian, and FAD calculating scientic equations...

Can't wait to see more stats...

A question about that download. Do I Right Click, then take out the .html and select "All Files" for the other drop-down menu and save it?

EDIT: Nevermind.

Ok, here goes;
12242 frames 362.642 seconds 33.76 fps 1.752 fps variability

That isn't good, is it? :(
System Specs are in the "HL2: Substance" topic in General Editing. Yes I know I NEED to upgrade, but I can't afford it. ;(

12242 frames 134.437 seconds 91.06 fps 5.255 fps variability.

Try restarting HL2 after changing video settings. Then run the timedemo. Or did you try that?

Wow, niiice... What are your stats, nvrmor?

(One reason my 9800 xt works so well is that, I believe, first of all that the asus card is clocked a little higher, and then also, when I was getting artifacts during gaming... I decided to get a new GPU heatsync/fan...

And so the fan is probably larger than the card itself...

But yeah, ASUS, those are some nice stats/fps too.

I'm kinda thinkin' that NVidia's gonna be ahead in the GPU race for a little while... Until ATI releases their next few cards...

EDITT- On the stress test, I get a better FPS than on MY TEST..... I usually get around 100 fps avgerage, however that seemed more geared to CS:S, than HL2 IMO...

He's got a really nice X800XT card which blows Nvidia out of the water in HL2.

Wicked...

So, from our current standings, we've got:

1. x800 xt - nvrmor
2. 6800 gt - Asus
3. x800 pro - Alan Freeman
4. 9800 xt - RaBiD WeAzEL
5. 9800 pro - bryanf445

Hmmm, seems about right.

Anyone else up for a try before this thread completely dies and goes in the famous halflife2.net forum history?

You could always use this too..

sorry about the double post there...

Do I get the loser award? I've had the worst I believe. :)
Of course, I do have an XP 2000+ CPU with a 5900.

You're a winner, because you were brave enough to TRY! hah

And no, it's not expired, you just have to wait the amount of time you're notified for.
