Fracture

that was AMAZING! kudos to a new fps genre defining game..

Hot.

Too bad it's probably for consoles only.

damn straight its hot, and yea its looks like maybe a 360 only game.

P.S. Soul for whatever reason you give me the impression you are mocking me each time you respond to me:|

It wouldn't have been too ambitious for the old Lucasarts. Back when they still made classics.

damn, something is wrong with me isn't it.. really, never am i sacarstic..

Lucasarts are really drawing away from they're renowned titles, they expanding to games that won't extend to a sequel or series :(

I mean come on, as if a sequel could be made from this bad boy!

I remember seeing that clip ages ago, have they actually gotten anywhere with it?

/edit beaten.

I'd rather see an original IP than a sequel anyday. HL2:E2 certainly looks nice, but Portal looks far more interesting.

Apart from the obvious awesomeness of the ground deformation, the game looks a little bland both combat and graphics side.

And terrain deformation isn't that new, just underused. Hell, Doshin the Giant for the N64 had it. It just didn't have the physics capabilities to make great use of it.

I may be proved wrong though. Just look how sceptical I was about Bioshock's graphics and combat. I was hella humbled.

Yea I agree it does look average in some ways, really I dont see how anything this revolutionary could be pulled off well unless it had a development cycle as long as hl2 or dare I say tf2. I hope the best for it though.

not too thrilled tbh

also this isn't really revolutionary, terrain deformation is an old, old idea with lots of prior implementation; not to this degree, but i'm afraid this comes off more as gimmicky than genre-defining or revolutionary to me.

looks like a next gen Pariah sequel turned 3rd person with deformable terrain.

Looks stupid, gimmicky and repetitive to me. I also despise third person perspective. No thanks, but I suppose I'd try a demo with the hopes of being proven wrong.

I downloading the demo from PSN europe as we speak and I'll see that it's like.

Riiiiight after I play some more Burnout Paradise.

Environments look ****ing terrible. Looks almost last-gen at times.

Okay, I played it for three minutes before turning my PS3 off, and it's a 6/10 game at best. The terrain deforming felt scripted and you couldn't do it on all surfaces and only really in the way the developers wanted you to do.
The demo also had some weird depth of field filter that focused way too close to the camera. That gave he a headache trying to look at things further away than like eight centimeters.

I don't care if this does turn out to be garbage or not. I want to play with that ****ing gun/grenades.

I hope it turns out well. I am up for games that try to be different. And if they are fun then that is even better.
