Free Alternative to MS Publisher.

Given that I don't pirate software, and some of my PC building customers seem to want something that can read *.pub files, I was wondering if there is a decent free alternative :)
 
My uni just crossed over to open office cause they're too cheap to pay the m$crosoft office licensing fees.

....man i hate it.

Everyone has office at home, you take your work into uni to print out... and BANG all your formatting is buggered up. Not fun re-formatting a 70 page document 2 hours before it's gotta be handed in. It also has stupid problems with spreadsheets and microsoft equation.

/me tears his hair out
