I'm looking for something that can take an mpeg-1 encoded video file, and convert it to a proper vcd format. Any help is muchly appreciated.

lol im looking for the exact same thing, and i found something
il see if i can post the file / link to it

its VCDEasy, the last freeware edition

Looks good :D
Right now i'm converting all my stuff to mpeg, but I'll post again after I try it :D

Google for TMPEGEnc, it's a high-quality MPEG encoder that is very popular and again produces high quality results. The MPEG-1 Encoder is free and you get a 30-day free trial of MPEG-2 Encoding.

www.overclockers.co.uk
you get Nero 6 Burning Rom for well udner £5
its OEM but who needs a fancy case

oh and im using that TMPEG or whatever after i foudn it on VCDEasy recommended. but converting avi to mpeg takes FOREVER!!!
im talking about full movies (bad bad)

Encoding always takes a while. I usually let it run overnight.

i used VCDEasy to save VCDs to image file (.bin and .cue) but how am i meant to mount them?
im using daemon tools, and when im ount the bin and the cue it comes up wit hthe CD and says 600kb used.
am i doing somethign wrong

dammit. the file im trying to burn is bigger than a 700MB CD. using VCDEasy as well as TMPEGEnc i cant find the option where it splits it so it can be burnt on 2 CDs

ive got an idea
i set the encoding range to something like half of the movie (il do this manually) and encode that to mpeg
then i will select the 2nd part manually and encode that.
so i will have 2 mpeg files and then burn them individually
its the perfect plan, the ultimate solution
i am a genious
lol
