No. i just want a cookie ;(

I will take it in to see my Maths teacher...

This thread is misleading :( You promised sweet, sweet cookies, yet all there is is maths! Which is not sweet, nor cookie-like ;(

and I'm sorry I can't help, I'm awful at maths. Worse than awful in fact

Yea, but if i put "Icky, unintersting math inside" Would you have still came in? :p

Wow. What kind of math is that?

Math^100?

Damn glad I dropped out...now give me that cookie bitch.

Anyone know a good math forum? :P

the answer is in that image...

you don't need much help from us :-/
Lol.. i wish...
The x sub i and delta x are just specifying what the variables are
You need to evaluate the limit...

Ooooh, im retarded!!! I think i know it now...
Thats the summation formula for integration
So that should be equal to the integral of x-x^2 from 0 to 1...

Okay, i think i've got it ^_^
You can ignore this now...
Either that or we can designate this thread to talking about how sexy tr0n is...

Or my leet new watch!

Seriously! And it came in my cereal! ^_^
Free + leet = awesome

dude is that one of those questions on sequences and series?

if so then u have to use the formula

Sn = (n/2) * [2a + (n -1)*d]

S being SUM
n = being the amount of numbers
a = the first number in the sequence
d = the diffrence between each number

EDIT: ok no i;m wrong. its midnight here and i;m JUST startin my alevel physics work :x so i;m bound to be confused

im in calc 1 and i forgot that stuff. i remember seeing it last year. gimmie an integral so i can feel better.

∫arcsec(x) dx

(That one is hard...)

∫ (1-x^2)^(1/2) dx

(This one is fun)

Has nobody here taken integral calculus? That essentially looks like the Reimann sum of a function as n approaches infinity. It's another way of calculating the integral. I'm assuming that they mean the limit as change in x approaches 0, which is the same as when n approaches infinitiy. In this case the function is f(x)=x-x^2. And the indefinite integral is that equation there.

LISTEN GUYS..! THE answer is!

Umbrella!

MMmmmm integers...

I eat those for breakfast.

The answer is 6.
Close, its 1/6 :p

Dan was completely right though
Man, that guy is my hero.

Its simply the reimann sum equivelent of
∫ x - x² dx and its from 0 to 1
(Its an area between two functions)

so ½x² - 1/3x³ |1-0
= 1/6

Its really easy, simpley a matter or realizing its a reimann sum -_-
