I actually downloaded this earlier today. It's quite a bit of fun. Keep in mind it's free as well.

Not the best, but well worth a try.

YOU CAN'T SAY THE WORD 'sniper'.

I know, it's absolutely stupid, there is alot of swear filters, like you can't say fuk, or anythign like that, so if you want to say sniper, you have to put something like sn iper.. I thought that was the only retarded thing with the game.. I always say 'kill the sniper!' but instead it filters it and types 'kill the **!'

was the game developed by mormons? perhaps it was just the server that had swear filters in place. btw how is the word sniper at all offensive?

I've been away from Tribes for so long now that I'll probably get my ass pounded.
Nothing was more satisfying than getting several mid-air discs in a row.

Also, downloading Combat Arms... even though I highly doubt it's changed much if at all from the beta.

I know! I swear all the CS dropouts come and play this game. I uninstalled it days ago, but a friend of mine wanted to see how far he could push the newbies around and kept playing. He got a really good ratio by only using grenades (he'd throw his 2 grenades - kill himself - spawn, repeat).

It sucks that the stuff you unlock isn't really worth the effort. The best guns I've seen are available right off the bat.

Well I found out some of the better guns are free actually. The game is getting very MEH right now. It's like DM, only with that CS feel to it. The nubs don't help neither. You either have nubs on the server, or the people who you swear to God that they hack or something.

To be honest, Battlefield 1942 beats both these games, and I don't even play BF1942 often.

Valve games kick ass, but these two games are way over hyped, like I said, just like Halo. Except Valves claim to fame (unlike Bungie) is actually a GOOD game. (HL2)

I don't go by features, I go by fun and for how long. I'll admit, for a while I had a lot of fun with Counter Strike, and even Halo MP. I moved on to DoD, then DoD:S and now TF2. They're all great, and all amzingly fun in a way that outweighs whatever lack of features there might be. I can still jump into a DoD server and have a blast for a couple hours (even though I won't be as good as I used to be)

They are part of the game. Games are designed to appeal to a specific demographic, and if they are more successful, less successful, community and player numbers will reflect that.

@Lefty - Well, I never said they suck, like Halo, they ARE fun to play, but it has such a stupidly cult-like fan base, where they won't listen to you if you don't absolutely love the damn games (or in this case try to prove me wrong for some reason). Like I said, they're average games, and fun for a while, they do NOT suck, but they are not the holy grail of gaming either.
