It's a bit funny when, a company that isn't known for just making half assed sequels to their previous games with no new ideas, takes it time to make the new episode of the series, everyone gets upset. And they have states pretty many times that that is exactly why it's taking so long.

Now, it's true that they might have spent a lot of the times on L4D, L4D2, Portal 2, and TF2 in the meanwhile, but that's probably because they have had more ideas and inspiration for those games. If I were working in a company, I wouldn't want to be working on the sequel to X, if I had a lot more ideas for Y.

Also, remember when those L4D2 boycott guys went to Valve and they told them that they were working on some "other project" in the second floor? The writer of the article then assumed it was Episode 3, but it was probably Portal 2.

Anyways, the developers of Portal 2 must have really fun when the only thing they hear is "where's mah ep3?"

FREEMAN IS BACK!!! :O:O:O

People are more upset about the non-appearance of Episode 3 because Valve embarked on an episodic model for Half Life and then have left it midway through the story. It's a testament to how well they've engrossed us in the Half Life narrative that we all desperately want the next (and concluding?) part of the saga.

Also the fact that 3 years is usually a decent amount of time to wait for a new game, let alone an episode that doesn't even require a new engine.

OR DOES IT.
