Freezing On Intro

2.6 P4
gforce 6600 GT
768 DDR 333 mhz

hi, On the intro to HL 2 where Gman is talking, my computer does a Complete lock up , when he turns grey , just after he says something about "your time has come" or something like that. Ive tried everything from turning all the settings on low, to playing in a window. Nothing works, and i cant get passed the movie sequence. All my drivers are up to date.

does it crash with sound looping?

is it always the exact same point? do you manage to get a bit further sometimes?

if the sound is looping try updating the sound driver to the latest, i know you said you have updated all drivers but i think it is a common one to forget.
i had a problem with mine and i upgraded my onboard realtek ac'97 codec to the latest.

also what driver for gcard are you using?
ive been using the 70.90 beta for a while although there is a 71.40 beta out now (71.50 also but vendor is leadtek)http://www.3dchipset.com/drivers/nvidia/beta/nt5/index.php

ps i know it sounds stupid but one time(at band camp) during a restart i swapped my RAM around and the next time it worked! but i think it was from the driver update but you never know!
