Tell me about Full Sail.

However, before you answer, read my background for a little bit.

Since I was young, I have loved video games. Not to say I don't live a life, but I do enjoy video games as much as any of you. I currently attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. My major is Interactive Design and Game Development.

I am not happy where I am right now and with my freshman year already under my belt, I am looking more into just straight game design. I need some people to tell me about Full Sail the WAY IT IS. I have visited the website and it looks very neat and organized, and exactly what I am looking for, however - it's SUPPOSED to look that way to attract people. I need the real deal: will full sail look good as my main education on my resume? will it look better than my current college? What else can you tell me?

Thanks everyone. I look forward to reading your replies.

EDIT: I did use the search button and I read that post by that girl about Full Sail and I read a lot of people talking about how it's really bad.... why though?? Is it really just unimpressive to developers? Any graduates here?

Full Sail is a school for people who want to make and design games, but its where you learn how to do it all..

I wouldn't do it man, way to expensive. I've thought long and hard about it, but then I've read around on different game art forums and seen some graduate projects.. To be honest, some of it looks like utter crap. You are probably better off where you are. If I were you I would focus on where I was, do the best I can in school, and devote 99.9% of my free time to practice/practice/practice game art. Because in the end, schools can only teach you theory, not art. once your skillset is where you think it should be, start building a strong portfolio. This is what will get you noticed in the industry, not where you went to school. They (developers) are looking for talented artists, not well educated corporate clones. Be unique, be good at your craft, and again practice. Eventually it will pay off. Where your attending now should teach you what you need to know about the programs. If your looking into the art side of things i'd suggest life drawing/sculpture/painting (and these can be taken at any school, doesn't have to be the most expensive) and then... Your set. Now if I could just get my lazy ass to do something, maybe I could take my own advice :P

id recommend going to a standard university and working on mods in your spare time instead , from what ive seen game companies care more about your portfolio than the education you have.

Go and get a real degree at a real university. If you want to get into the games industry, go for a comp sci degree and work on mods as a hobby.

Thanks for all your help. Is there anything anyone can tell me about DigiPen?

I don't know much about digipen other than its really tough to get in there.. From what I hear though it is supposed to be a really good school but focuses very heavily on the programming side of things..
