Funniest Half-Life franchise moments

I've seen that.

I hated it, because it was so not my fault the buggy decided to turbo at that exact point.

One of the best moments was, when i came near the nova prospect walls - the part where the fast zombie attacks you from that pipe thingy. So when I came there, the zombie leaped at me but I got out of it's way and it jumped straight into the sea. That was just epic.

Lol, I hated it there. I always brought My Antlions there, and, well, it wasn't the zombie jumping off the cliff =[

Ahh, I've wanted to do that for ages. I tried it yesterday, but the bastard employed some fancy footwork along the cliff edge.

Has anyone else seen this?

I forget exactly where, but there's a spot somewhere in Highway 17/Sand Traps where you can look down and see a sand beach a little ways down from the road. There's no obvious way back up, but it wouldn't be a fatal drop. While doing a playthru trying to find secret areas, I jumped down onto this beach, but halfway down the screen blacked out and the "Mission Failure" text said:

Subject: Freeman
Status: Evaluation terminated
Reason: Subject demonstrated exceedingly poor judgment

I cracked up, then did it again just to make sure I read it right. Then cracked up again.

Wow. Nice find. I've never seen that message before.

Found one today ^^

In the lambda complex, you have to climb up through portals right? Well, right after you flood the coolant system and such. Anyways, the one bolt of electricity goes around on a higher level right? Well, when you get to the main core (no screenie, sorry) with all the number 'n' that, you can get to a room just BESIDE the first core (electric bolts etc) and a Vort spawns JUST as the electricity hits. . .I loled so hard after I calmed down from being startled XD

Ya I've seen that before

Here is a another funny one, technically it isn't in HL2 but, it was a concept Idea for an opening to it from Rising the Bar. The Opening starts with you on a train heading toward c17 threw the wasteland, it describes a Gargantua standing on on the tracks by your train growling at it and then a Razor Train rams into it sending Garg bits every where. I laughed so hard when I read that.

I can see why that got took out.

Welcome to HL2! Look! Gargantua! *splat*

Most people know that if you keep hitting 'e' on resistance fighters they say funny stuff.

"This is BULLSHIT"
"That's MORE information than I require"

"This is Bull*Squid" =P
Couldn't resist ^^.

I'd have loved to see a Garg though, but it wouldn't make much sense =[
1) Garg, just standing there? More like
Subject: Gordon Freeman
Evaluation: Terminated
Postmortem: Failure to avoid scripted sequence or arrive at objective point.

2) They'd have to put a garg some where else, and besure you see it again in order to justify the first's existence. . . and that'd be, well, work.

You mean a Garg in HL2/E1/E2?
In the RtB book, it was revealed that Marc Laidlaw originally planned to have the train Gordon was riding on plow through a garg walking across the railroad tracks.

...

Needless to say, it got cut from the game.

I think it was another train that you see in the distance plowing through a garg.

You're on parallel tracks. Another train runs over a garg as you pass by.

Yeah, but it still doesn't make sense =/.

Funny, yes, but I'd expect a Garg (which, you know, took out a whole group of military soldiers, and plowed through a cave in Xen) to not only ATTACK the oncoming train, but it would take a bit more than a 1990 Subway Train to kill it. . . Now, A Razor train on the other hand. . .

Basically the whole part after holding off the ant lions in Ep 2 where you're going through the tunnels with a Vortigaunt - "No pit would be complete without a Freeman climbing out of it."

It was a razor train.

I laughed really hard when the vortigants are treating Alyx and are suggesting the idea with the extract:
"The extract!"
"Agreed!"
"Indeed."
"The extract!"
"The extract!"

That was hilarious, because they said it so many times, and the idea was so popular and obvious it was silly.

"No pit would be complete without a Freeman climbing out of it." Also awesome!

I love the vartigaunt personality.

one of the best moments i think is when Gman contacts you and says

"doctor freeeman" I just cracked. It made me think of a little girl ;D

If you gravgun the buggy off the side of a cliff (like near the gunship battle), it says something like "Subject failed to retain necessary equipment for mission"

I was going through the sound files in the gcf today, found some random citizen quotes:

Ep1:
"I don't miss Dr. Breen... but I do miss his show. Remember when he had those jugglers on?"
"We're sitting ducks in here! ...or maybe fish in a barrel. Anyway, it's not good."
"<to Alyx> Yap, yap, yap. Why don't you let Freeman get in a word for once?"
"Ahh, hey Freeman! And this is the Mrs, I presume."
"Alyx? Oh my god, WHERE'S FREEMAN?!? Oh, there he is."
"Yeah, yeah, good to see you. Where's Dog?"
"Who are you again?"
"They killed the new guy!"
"<sees a zombie> Holy crap! I think I know that guy!"
"Antlions never got into the city in the old days... I mean... last week."

HL2:
"Doctor Freeman! Can you hear me? Do NOT go into the light!"
"To think all I wanted to do was sell insurance!"
"When this is all over, I'm gonna... aww, who am I kidding..."
"I can't get this tune out of my head... <starts whistling>" (not sure what the song is)

It could easily be said about a metrocop.
The dialogue is great, I'm always kicking myself for missing stuff people are saying as I play through. Playing through HL2 I couldn't just pass by a Breencast, I had to stop and listen. I wanted to see the jugglers!

Barney mentions the cat again much later in HL2, I hope it's referenced again if he reappears. Whatever he saw though must have been quite disturbing.

in ep. 2, when alyx is finally cured and you are leaving the vorts and the two guys in the mineshaft:
guy 1: ok Freeman... be Adequate!
guy 2: what does that even mean?
guy 1: dunno, just sounds like somthing the vorts would say.

those two made me lol. i hope they make it to ep. 3

I imagine it to be like the teleporting pig-lizard thing in Galaxy Quest. :x

A:Well, he never used one before right?
Edit: Im aggreing with you.
B:She don't got alot of mussels.

She doesn't have a lot of shellfish? :D

My favorite has to be the scene in HL1 where a Barney tells you that you have to launch a satallite so the Lamda Team can clean up the mess.

On one of my many re-runs through the game, I decided to throw a grenade at Barney before I got to him, completely forgetting that I need him to open the gate for me to get by. I could have just "no clipped", but that would have ment leaving the tram behind.

In disappointment, I approached Barney's dead body, only for his head to swival 125 degrees and begin his spiel.

"Alyx? Oh my god, WHERE'S FREEMAN?!? Oh, there he is."

what game is that out of ? and whereabouts does in take place in the game ?

Shutting down.... Attempting Shutdown.... it's... it's not shutting down! Gordon, Get away from the beams!! *scchchhrrr** Blarrrghhh!!!!!***

Those 2 are obviously the best Resistance Fighters in the game. (Minus the major characters, of course.)

I haven't played through ep1 or 2 yet, seeing as how I was on a machine that was on the shorter side of being about as powerful as the Northern Territories in canadian politics. But playing through 1 and 2, it's the idea that despite fighting aliens, the combine, and everything going on, Barney Calhoun is terrified by Klein's pet Headcrab.

Two of my favorite moments...

In Lowlife (Ep 1), Alyx making zombie noises behind your back. They were convincing enough to make me spin around, ready to blast something... "Gotcha!" ARGH!

And in Ep 2. "Be... adequate." "What the heck does that mean?" "I dunno, it sounds like something the Vorts would say!"

Dr. Magnusson: "ALRIGHT BACK TO WORK EVERYONE! IT'S JUST ANOTHER FALSE ALARM IN THE SECONDARY SILO!"

Dr. Magnusson: "For God sake Freeman what is taking you so long! Ohhh I cannot concentrate with all of this racket!

"EAT LEAD YOU OUTER-SPACE OCTOPUS!" *SPLAT*

"This is a red letter day, we'll inaugurate the new teleport with a double transmission."
"You mean it's working? For real this time? Because... I still have nightmares about that cat."
"What cat?"
"Now, now, there is nothing to be worried about, we have made major strides since then...major strides."
"What cat?!"

"Conditions could hardly be more ideal."
"That's what you said last time."
"Hey, uh, yeah, about that cat..."

"Did you hear a cat just now?...That damn thing haunts me!"

Random rebel dialogue:
Male rebel: "When this is all over, I'm gonna mate!"
Female rebel looks at him and smiles.
*a little later*
Male rebel: "I can't remember the last time I had a shower..."
Female rebels turns away instantly.
yea what cat?
can you like show a pic or something?

Anybody notice on the first one the Headcrab Zombie watching the Snowy TV in the lab I always liked that.
