Here is the third and final video by me. It is an extremely funny video about Software Piracy. Why is this funny? It is from 1992 and is about copying Floppy disks, hence the name "Don't Copy That Floppy" it has a generic Rapper. A MUST SEE!

wait! by you? did you make it?
i've seen this before too.

No I did not make it. Sorry! This was actually on TV. It's a real movie. About 9 minutes long.

Then why the shit did you say, "[/i]Here is the third and final video by me.../i]"?

*I'm confoozled*

Kschreck is on a video posting spree :)

I've seen that video as well.. saw it too many times, it's kinda scary watching it again

http://media.ebaumsworld.com/boredomwheel.mpg <-- now THIS is a funny video, IMO, anyhow.. worth the download if anyone's interested, it's about 45 seconds long

If they're trying to stop people from piracy, FORGET IT! DEAL WITH IT! No matter how hard they try, they won't stop it fully. The pirates are always finding ways to get games illegally. Just deal with it.

saw this about 2 years ago on some other 3-d modelin forums :\

my ears bled.

This one has been posted all over the place, seen it a dozen times. The message is there and the rapper is funny. Dated, but still good :)

"welcome to the end of the computer age ... muahahahaha" This is some funny stuff. Its funny how they try to scare us with nonsense. I have copies of every game i buy. Why? Because if i screw up my disks, it gets a little scratch, something corrosive spills on it, my little sister starts to play with it, the dog eats it or for whatever reason it breaks, i have to buy a new one.

Or, if my dear brother, or my cousin wants to have a copy i wont say no, go buy it yourself, thats just ignorant and stupid, who wants to be a prick anyways. Or if you have a friend who don't have allot of money but he really wants a copy of something i'm not going to be an ass about it. Sure its illegal, but who the f.. cares? I bought it. I want to make some copies of it. So STFU MPAA or whatever.

A good game or group is always going to sell.

You know, here in Sweden, its legal to copy your game and give it to your family and friends.

Also, its legal to have warez on your compy but its not legal to share it with others you dont know (over the internet).

Hmm, if thats the way its going to go, then all it will take is one person to buy one single copy, put it on the internet, and blam, the end of gaming as we know it.
Now if you had made the product, and no-one bought it but gave it away free on the internet, you wouldnt find it so harmless at all.....

Good video, good message, and its all true, dont copy that floppy!

I'm not saying i put my files on the net. Thats a no-no for me, would be stupid. The whole purpose of buying a game is to own that copy, so if i bought a game for 40 bucks and then made a copy making a BT out of it so everyone could download, i would be buying the game for maybe 100-200-300 people of even more. No way!

Its just that in the US, its like the industry is saying that you cant share it with your buddy, or family members. Thats just stupid. of coerce, the net was not suited for distros those days, and warez was not a problem. In Norway you are allowed to copy your own bought stuff. Its not illegal to break copy protection (the industry has not been allowed to influence the laws in Norway to that extent). And sharing to your family and friend is not a felony.

You would have a HELL of allot of friends and actively distribute the copy to make any kind of impact. Very few people did those days IMO. Now i doubt that there are many kids out there that buy a game for much of their weekly allowance and make it available over the net. Now the problem is partly the business itself and groups that work on semi professional levels in distributing games, so the whole industry is barking at the wrong tree here.

Its not the consumers that are the enemy, the industry is going a long way in alienating the regular consumer. I for one have actively boycotted record labels that is active in tracking down consumers that share MP3`s and is working together with the MPAA or RIAA in tracking down 12 year olds, teens, old people that accidentally share their stuff by installing some software that they don't know how works, meaning they don't know that its sitting there on their boxes and sharing to the whole world. An extreme example, but either way. The consumers are the target of big biz hunt downs.

Why is it that i see downloads of movies, games that isn't even out in the print yet? Movies that is purely work prints, pre DVD`s, screeners meant for some academy. Games that are Pre Golds, Alpha`s, Beta`s. Its because the industry has a serious security issue. And that they don't have the proper copy protection. The copy protection is a joke on these things, and its even illegal to break this protection, now that something to laugh about! The industry should be encouraging copy protection break down to learn about its flaws so that they can make it better!

Now there is some interesting copy protection in the works, like copy's that disintegrates as long as they leave the original disc. Lets see how that goes. The industry has the right to protect their intellectual property, but if it breaks they notoriously go on a hunting spree on the little guy instead of looking inward to change their own security. Its barking at the wrong tree.

If its available on the net, and i have easy access to it, i`m not going to do any self justice and not download it. Its in my human nature. If it wasn't available, or hard to get, i would go and buy it if i really wanted it, which i do. Simple as that. But when stuff is available on the net even before i can buy it, the temptation can be too big. So the business have to look at their own security first, and see where the leaks are coming from. Secure their property instead of decapitating the consumer for downloading things that is regularly available on the net.

There... now you have my "two cents" on the subject.

That's so hilarious!

YO Bro! Don't copy da disk! YO! lol :D
