Hey guys

I was curious, anyone know any info/release dates on future Processors (p5, 3.3ghz+) or Vid cards (9900 or fx 6000) or motherboards, ect...?

Im gonna be buying a pc in september.

The next big leap in video cards will use PCI Express technology.
You won't see this on the market until next year, and it means
buying both a new motherboard and video card.

...In the meantime, the ATI 9900 might be out by the time HL2 ships.

AMD's Athlon64 should be out by the end of this year, same with the new Prescott core for the Pentium 4 (which may very well become Pentium 5). Not too sure about the Athlon64, but the new Pentium will debut at 3.4GHz.

Athlon64 is a 64bit processor, and the new Prescott core is rumoured to have 64bit adressing as well. Ooh la-la..

Of course, neither is in time for HL-2, if that's what you were getting at.

the 9900 comes out in sept, and the p5 comes out (i heard/read) in october.

64bit will be clocked lower but it can dish out more

AMD is also coming with a 800fsb processor,. (sorry if that is the 64bit one, i heard they are different products) in the next couple months
