Wow, they're invading forums everywhere! At least we have Greg and not Gabe :LOL:
 
Im surprised so many people didn't believe it in the first place, but oh well, this should wipe out any speculation of whether what was said at Homelan was real.
 
i guess it saves me some stress worrying about some unknown date we have to guess. but i really wished it would come in july some time. my school starts back up in august so i wont have as much time :(

I hope, but I know it is very unlikely, that it goes gold early August, and it is shipped mid/late August, so I can at least have a taste of it before my classes start again on August 28th

I like this, Valve is being open and humorous. They're obviously feeling good about something. I've never seen them so present on any forums.
 
As good as Fallout is (I'm not joking, their site rocks) why would Gabe post on a site with 258 registered users? Like wtf...

I believed this information when I first saw it but I guess it's cool that it has been confirmed by Gabe. Thanks for the link ;)

Who cares? Atleast we have a potential release date confirmed. :) I think its nice that Valve staff members visit HL2 fan sites, even the smaller ones.

Just as long as it's not lying, we'll be fine. For some of us, those effects haven't worn off. Great news the release date, even if the source is unreliable. :p

While the chance is pretty low, it would be pretty freakin' awesome if the game was out August 25th (my b-day). Even if not, it'd make a kickass I O U gift.

It always seems to happen this way.

"We're looking at summer!"
"We're looking at August!"
"We're looking at the holidays!"
"We're looking at sometime after E32K5!"
"We're looking at summer 2005!"
"We're looking at around Christmas!"
"We're looking at like...someday...maybe!"
"We're looking at never (WTF?)!"

Everytime I see a release date for a Valve game, I will add 2 years to it just to be safe. 1 year isn't for sure, 2 years is.

I'm not mad at Valve by the way, just making a point. (Valve Rules)

So when Gabe Newell says: "OMG WTF HL3 is being released on September 15th, 2010! WTF? I hope we don't blow it Doug, LOLZ!"

I'll just assume he meant: "HL3 will be released either 2012 or never."

So 6 years from now, we will all see a post on halflife3.net saying: "WTF OMG we been h4xxed. HL3 is being delayed until we feel like un-delaying it. WTF? h4x!!!11fivetwenty. I n33d t3h ass-istance of the c0mmuniteh in tr@ckin' dis sh1z down. W3rd."
