Gabe not responding

Yeah I know Gabe prolly has better things to do with his time, but I have sent him SEVERAL emails concerning various, general aspects of HL2 with no response. Not from a single email (over the course of several weeks, that is). Has anyone else experienced this?.
 
i have sent dozens of love letters to Kylie Minogue, she also never responds :|
and i'm talking about years here !!

As you guessed, probably just very busy right now.. Maybe about ready to release the game. *crosses fingers and hopes*
 
I've never emailed him personally, my guess is there's very little an email could cover that frequent articles and previous emails haven't already.

One thing that did kinda piss me off though. When the whole source leak shit was happening fans were asked to give any info they could about downloadable content n shit. I emailed them a shit loada links that i eventually found through my own pursevierence and that of people i know and at the very least i think just a reply saying 'cheers' wouldve been a nice alternative to the absolute silence that Valve seem to have so much fun in giving us.
 
Dont worry Valve will pay us back with an amazing game! (someday :rolleyes:)
 
I've sent him several e-mails also, I think he has me on his ignore list or something after mentioning how HL-2 was delayed because they couldn't get STEAM ready in time.
 
Does anyone think we'll ever actually find out the whole story behind the delays and shit? even after the games released.

Prima is making that behind the scenes book (Making of HL2), aren't they? Hopefully, that'll shed some light on the subject.

I emailed bill gates whenI was little and asked for a new comp cuz my parents were poor and hes association wrote back saying hell no irs wont let us (heap of bs) and i cried..... loil i luvd my lemonade stand tho

im actually amazed that so many emails have been answered. just look at how many are in the valve info thread. i think valve does a very good job at responding in general.
 
Especially if you consider how people respond to any level of their feedback. "OMG GABE STOPS HAVIEN INTRERVIWS AND GST BADKC TO WROK!11!!" is far too prevailent.

I've sent two e-mails to Gabe and never got any replys, so its not really representative.

yeh it responds when it's given chance to show off about how good the game as. Not to questions around the subjects such as Where the hell is Team Fortress 2, CS and more indepth questions about the leak and the ridiculously poor way they handled the situation.

Ah, Chris_D just got a reply from Gabe. Guess he's alive and well, and he just has everyone that posted in this thread on e-mail block ;) lol, maybe he just has less time for e-mails, as Fenric suggested
 
How do you know that you are sending to his right email address?? Maybe someone uses his email address to answer all fockers for Gabe (because snice Gabe is lazy scumbag).
 
If Gabe and Valve gave us something worthy to discuss and speculate about, we wouldn't have to spam Gabe.
 
give em a break guys... they probobly get a few thousand e-mails a day....
 
I emailed Gabe asking if I should buy Call of Duty.

Still waiting on the reply...

I actually sent Gabe an email asking that very thing this week. Just a, "After the game is released, will someone be releasing something telling the tale behind the delay and theft?"

But, alas, never heard back.

I would say eventually the tale will be told though.

and the e3 is in may if i'm correct...so we'll have to wait longer then april..or 24th feb...or am i wrong?

I really don't like that E3 news. IT has huge negative potential. I guess we'll find out what Valve will be showing soon enough.
 
I think this is part of a skem in witch valve is gonna make all the kids go insane. And then valve will make us take over the world for them, and if we take over the world then they give us hl2. If we dont then we cant get it.

Ahh valve is trying to take over the world!!! Ohh well its worth it :)
 
You cant expect him to answer every single email he gets, he probably gets hundreds everyday even more now with all the speculation for hl2 dates etc.... + he has lots of work to do. Your emails were probably not very useful either
 
my e-mails are extremely useful, everyone wants to know Gabe's standpoint on political asylum.
 
I think personally it's more funny that you try to guess why he's more busy instead of doing something of greater importance...well who knows what that could be but it's just a suggestion.
 
I remember Valve saying September 30 was the definate release date, does anyone specifically remember them saying september 30 2003 though?
 
He's responded to a couple of my emails. There's a trick! I'll share...
The first couple emails I made the title something like "dear Gabe..." or "about half-life 2..."
No replies.
I made the ones that he replied to something that would catch his attention. Went something like "Why are you ignoring me?!?!"
Answered.
The trick is to make a title that will catch his attention, and not to ask questions that are dumb or obvious.
