Game won't start - Runtime Error

When I try to play Hl2, either of the episodes, or Lost Coast, I get this error message:

System Specs:
Windows XP
1.83GHz dual core processor
1GB RAM
AMD Radeon 1600x

I've tried reinstalling steam and half-life 2, updated my drivers, and searched the internet for solutions. Help!

EDIT: All of my other VALVe games work fine.

Bump. I assume double posting is against the rules and all, but I don't want this to die with no responses. At least tell me I'm screwed or something. ;_;

Verify, your cache files through Steam. That's about all I know to do for now. The error dialog box doesn't look familiar to me either. Look around at all the new *help* posts about Episode 2 and Steam errors in this forum. Then look at the dates on the posts before Orange Box came out. Threads in this time frame are quite more frequent. It's obvious there's been some trouble since OB came out. Keep waiting for someone who can help, I know how bad this must suck, trust me.

It does suck. I installed it on my parent's crap computer and it runs rather slow. After the ten or so minutes it took to load the main screen, it took another 2-5 minutes to load between the little checkpoint things. After contacting AMD tomorrow I'm going to try it on my brother's computer until this can be fixed.

I'm just bumping to say I fixed it. I restored back a week or so and installed the driver again. It seems like I picked the wrong one or something. :/
