Ive got a spare copy of HL2 (Steam) that I got from the orange box. Would like to swap it for a copy of DOD:S.

Anywhere on this forum that I can advertise it?

Is there a way to untie a CD key from a steam account?

I don't think so, so what you're proposing is not happening.

I am shocked and appauled and I am now going to deploy a facepalm.

He's got a spare copy of Half Life 2 from buying the Orange Box. Nothing to do with cd keys.

Don't do it! Joule is going to rip you off!

Be warned, that it's against the Steam user agreement to trade or sell gifts. If you are caught then don't be surprised to lose your account.

A gift is a sort of present. You don't make someone pay for a present.

oh lawl, hidden spare word.

I swear officer, it wasn't there before!

Where is the user agreement?

In that I can find no mention of gifts. It is a no no to sell/trade an account. But I dont want to do that.

May I sell or trade gift subscriptions?

Steam Gift Purchases can not be sold or traded. Attempting to sell or trade a gift subscription is a violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement and may result in your account being permanently disabled.

The gift is to get a friend to maybe start playing Half Life, it's like a recommendation.
Also, DOD:S is $5 and Half Life 2 is $20.
Horrible exchange!

The Day of Defeat Source free weekend is coming up, so that only lessens the deal further.

I dont care if its a crap deal, the game was just sitting around so I thought id pass it onto someone wanted it and get something in return that I wanted.

How exactly is this site feedback?
