Gamebiz has just sent word that their HL2 review has been released. They had a good impression of the game, giving it comments like "It will make you want to shriek gleefully."
Half-life 2 is the bee’s knees. If you’re looking for a game that sucks you right into the screen, this is it. This is your FPS benchmark, this is the game of the year; this game is the beautiful, imaginative, detailed masterpiece of 2004.
Chalk up another positive review for HL2!

Cool....

I guess.

Playing the game is much better than reading the reviews now :D

I wouldn't mind seeing some editorial comment about the number of problems people are having with HL2.

There's a lot of stuff going on in the "support" forum, where people are trying to find solutions to their problems, with seemingly no recognition or help forthcoming from Valve or anyone else.

Are these problems prevalent or isolated? How serious are the coding faults in Steam and HL2?

I've just purchased the Silver package, and still downloading... now I'm getting worried my money will be wasted because the game won't work on my system for some reason.

Can there be some addressing of these issues, instead of post after poast of how great the game is supposed to be?

There was often some official word coming from Valve about how the game was developing - let's see some official word about the problems they are aware of and are working on!

Thanks

I had some skipping, and it crashed a few times...but over all its bug free..when you think over a millions people (if not more im guessing) have the game and say 5000 have problems? Reading forums always gives you a bias view because its only whiners that post thier complaints...you never see a post saying "Half-Life 2 works good on my pc"

So dont take forum postings at face value on the ammount of problems seen.

Yeh, I agree with Vertz. I know about 7 or so people who have the game, 1 had a Steam login problem, which is now fixed, and one had his preload mysteriously go south and had to redownload. I had a font related problem, but in fairness, that was entirely my fault. The majority are up and running just dandy.

The Source engine can even handle Alt-Tab-ing. Definitely the best engine I've ever seen.

It's a good score. I gave it 100% in my personal review though :O

I think we should make a new section just for hl2 reviews, since there are soo many being reported :p
