Gameinfo.exe Doesent Exist?

ok, when ever i try to test my map it says gameinfo.exe doesent exist in c:/Program?????? help me!

i think someone said this is a problem with spaces in filenames or something like that.

The Dark Elf:
you need to copy it to the hl2 maps folder

how do you do that, and which folder

Make a folder called:

C:\Program_Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\[your-email]\sourcesdk

and copy GAMEINFO.TXT into that. Make sure you include the _ in the program files bit.

Yes but obviously replace [your-email] with your steam username

it wont let me put the : and / in the folder name though =(

I deleted my source sdk cache. Reinstalled and that fixed it.

ugh, i meant, in your C drive, make a folder called :

program_files then in that folder make another called valve and another in that called steam etc...

Search this forum for 'gameinfo.txt', theres loadsa threads on it, should find your answer somewhere

well... with the latest update of hammer it seems that some things have changed in my config when i look to the gameconfig tab under game executable :$SteamUserDir\half-life 2\hl2
game directory : $SteamUserDir\half-life 2\hl2
hamer map directory : $SteamUsedDir\half-life 2\hl2\maps

try with those lines
