Gameplay VERY choppy

Everytime I play this game, I notice that my gameplay is choppy as hell. Please help.

The players sort of sidescroll and my nades aren't any better. When I throw one, it sort of flys thru the air like so - - - - BOOM. It is so choppy that it makes the game unbearable.

I am currently reinstalling the game to see if that helps. If you have any other suggestions, please do say so.

Verify your GCF content, then Defrag. If that doesn't work, delete the CS:S GCF via Steam and save all your configs/autoexecs/whatever else and delete the CS:S folder under SteamApps, redownload the game after that.

If none of that works come back here and say something.

I'm not sure though, so... don't take my word for it

you don't by any chance happen to have HDR Lighting set to "ON' in the graphics options do you? That can seriously lag you graphically.
