I ****ing hate eb games (ok hate is a bit strong) I dislike them and avoid buying anything from them because they have overinflated prices, rude/stupid staff, puny pc section, elitist attitude, shitty customer service and horrible return policies

this guy is my hero:

After encountering a show stopping bug in the execrable Blazing Angels Dratz (some guy writing in a blog) attempted to return his copy of the game, but was stymied by an obsequious but unyielding manager who refused to let him return an opened game...

Dratz got absolutely nowhere trying to get a refund for his game, but his solution was ingenious. Reluctantly accepting a new copy of the game in exchange for the opened one, under the pretense that the game was broken because of a manufacturing defect, Dratz then proceeded to get back in-line and trade-in the unopened copy of Blazing Angels he had just been handed.

Hi, I have my receipt and an unopened game. I would like a refund.”

They stopped smiling.

The manager tried to explain the policy again, but I cut him off.

“Yeah, that’s a good policy. However it no longer applies to me. I have my receipt and an unopened game. I would like a refund.”

in yo face EB, in you mofo face

Is this new to people? I did this to PC World back 1999. I bought some shitty Delta Force game, it didn't run on my old PC, i took it back, but they wouldn't accept it, so i asked for a new one, only difference is i went to a different branch for a refund and no problems!

I hate it when you take something back and they give you vouchers for their shop. :frown:

ya well it's not on the internet so it's not true ;)

In the UK, Tesco doesn't have a refund-because-of-developers-defects policy for the PC, they just give you a new copy of the exact same game.

Although not necessarily defective, I passed off my copy of Halo as defective only to get a new copy, that was a bad day, I needed the refund money.

great.
that guy stood up for the average gamer who usually gets bullied into getting a new of the same bug infested game.
nice to see this kind of thing happenning at least some of the time.

Haha, excellent. Next time I get a silly game from Tesco, I'll pull this trick on them.

I stole a game from Tesco. Security is just too lax.

I know, the guards might aswell be sleeping on the job!

I can't believe it's taken this long for someone to think of that one (not that I thought of it first, just generally).

I don't know about the manager being 'owned', but that was pretty slick.

On their part.

I must try that, with someone recording it.
