Games cause stupidity?

Some videogames have taught me techniques on how to use some weapons such as guns.

for me videogames are just entertaiment and if that make people stupid so thatsmean all ways of entertaiment make people stupid too

Games expand the creativity and imagination of the mind in my opinion. Its just another form of art that entertain and enlighten us through our lives.

I agree that it distracts, I was meant to be doing some coursework today but instead I just played Legend of Zelda for 5 hours.

I don't know if it's the effects of games/computers or what, but my attention span is almost none-existant any more ... even when i'm out with mates I just don't concentrate on anything, and when i'm asked a question I usually don't even hear it the first time round and have to ask for them to repeat it... I can't concentrate on anything for longer than 5 seconds.

Maybe you have attention deficit disorder? It's present in both kids and adults. You never know.

Well, like most things in life, moderation is the key. Don't miss out on the rest of life because of video games, especially school, work, personal relationships, and reading.

Also, it depends on what games. HL2 is a fantastic FPS with lots to sink your brain into and a visual masterpiece, but I like my strategy games and puzzlers that let me think at a deeper level.

So, games will not make you dumber, in fact they may make you smarter, it depends on what else you do in life.
