You can go wild on the gamescom wave powered by valve. It is in the outdoor area, but don't worry, you won't even get wet. A rotating carpet gives you the feeling of truly surfing a wave. The gamescom wave powered by valve is right next to the beach and extends the beach area with another highlight. Grab yourself a board and surf the gamescom wave powered by valve.

i dont even know what to think anymore.

someone please, tell me what to think.

TELL ME WHAT TO DO

I feel your confusion my friend. (And yes I just registered to console this poor fello) The closest thing I could find to a "rotating carpet" surfing simulator is this: http://www.google.com/patents/US6168551 it is inflatable however.

all i can imagine is the technology is probably something similar to the Virtuix Omni

but generally speaking, in the advertising world "powered by" usually just equates to "sponsored by." im not sure if valve actually owns the tech or theyre just paying for it.

and just so we are clear on this:

everytime i look at that picture, my brain just goes "idk what youre looking at. try again later or please stay on the line until a representative can further assist you."

It's just a marketing thing, like when a cellphone company sets up a bouncy castle at a shopping mall.

Either that or Valve are making Waveracer 2.

i was going to use the "powered by Red Bull" example. tbh, ive whored the term myself in alot of the middleware ive co-developed.

Maybe they just decided to say **** it and mass produce hoverboards by 2015.

Wave simulator?

half-life games have physics puzzles.

in physics to measure the speed of waves, you have: Wavelength/Period
wavelength is represented as λ and period by T, wich is the first letter of the word Three...

half-life 3 confirmed.

And this is why I miss thumbs down.

We should eliminate thumbs up as well. Preferring one post over another can cause the neglected poster to feel unappreciated. Thumbs up are also mean by way of omission.

I think there has been ample discussion over having any "Like" things at all. I was for omitting them, but the community spoke otherwise. That being said, this is not the place to continue such discussion.

Anyway, this whole thing is confusing for me. But I agree with what others pointed out above: It's probably just sponsorship.
