According to a thread I found on Steampowered.com, Gamescom has the wave thing every year and they slap a different company's name on it each time. This year just happened to be Valve.

Until you post a link proving this, I don't believe it. As far as I know, Valve wasn't there to show any games. Only for Steam business.
