I also think it was probably a different strider created to show off animations. Either that or GameSpy was lying.

The date of the preview says it all. There may be various sizes of Strider which could've contributed to such an easy death but I think it just that the Striders weren't as tough in that particular build. I'm sure I read somewhere that Gabe said they toughened them up.

Probably one of the mini-striders, they come in different sizes and varieties (and flavours) you know.

BTW, it's a preview.Also, as you can see I already mentioned it to be an old article. I posted this thread mainly to devulge people in coming up with more zany ideas on how to kill the strider - we obviously know valve won't make it so easy for us.
