Gamestop hackers?

I went in to preorder Half Life two one week before September 30th and I'm like so Half Life 2 is coming out on the 30th right? The guy looked at me, kinda gave me a smirk, and said "Half life 2 is not going to be out until february." And he kept smiling....

Now is it just me or did this guy know something that I didn't?
