Gaming laptop recommendation

Leave him alone, let him learn whether it's worth it or not. We all have our standards and if his are as such, it doesn't really matter to us now does it.

I got the crappier version of that like 2 years ago for somewhere around $1250. 8800GTS card in it and only a 1.8GHz Core2Duo processor. Sure it's not a gaming beast...but it's not like it can only play current games on the lowest of settings. I play CoD:MW2 and L4D2 and it still looks really good to me. It's my primary PC ever since I had to move the desktop to a more secluded room of the house.

Moral of the story is there are people out there who have bought gaming laptops and are happy about it. Don't listen to everyone saying you'll hate the decision...as long as you keep in mind that you won't be able to upgrade it.

If you want portable gaming, get a PSP or DS then. Laptops are overpriced and unreliable.
You can put together a desktop with the same hardware, if not better, for half the price. Not to mention that they are prone to heat and battery issues.

If your still buying this laptop....
Whatever the **** you do.

Reinstall Windows once you get it. Gets rid of all the crapware.

There are people for whom a gaming laptop is the best choice. Take me for example.

I travel every day to campus and I bring my laptop along, because it already has the right settings and programs. I also don't have to worry about version control. Besides that I can play a game when I have nothing to do. Then I get back at my dorm where I can continue working and game on the laptop.

Finally, during the weekends I go home, so there's no need for a second computer at home as well. I have a desktop at home, which can run games as well as my laptop, but I never use it anymore.
