I know that some of you love this little gem of a movie as much as I do.

Yep, I love it to bits ... and the soundtrack is great, finishes it off ... My favorite artist (frou frou) and my favorite tune (coldplay - dont panic) is just the icing on this particular cake. Zero 7 are on there too, another favourite (and quite underrated) artist.

And yeah, it ranks up with Trainspotting and Clockwork Orange for "favorite soundtrack"

Amen. Wasn't "Caring is Creepy" the credits song?

I think so. "New Slang" was the song Natalie Portman played for Zach Braff when they first meet.

Yeah, cause I remember thinking "If I ever make a movie, Caring is Creepy will be in the credits" and then I saw Garden State :\

I've only heard good things about it. I should rent it.

i didn't really feel anything when i saw it. I don't even remember what happened...it was THAT good.

You hate I Heart Huckabees yet you like this?

Garden State was alright the first few times. It still isn't too bad, I own it on DVD. By the 3rd time I watched it, I suddenly realized "I can make a better movie than Zach Braff."

Garden State didn't have blatantly pretentious dialogue about the meaning of life . It was funnier, easier to follow, and the acting was better. And that damn score that Huckabees had really got on me nerves.

Yeah, it tried to be an existential adventure appealing to pseudo-intellectual teens, but failed at it. And it definitely isn't funnier. It's not even funny. Brian Eno's the man when it comes to soundtracks. Granted, his work on Eternal Sunshine and Punch Drunk Love was better.

It's entertaining to watch, but I'd choose Huckabees over it.

EDIT: Btw, you have an excellent film collection.

I took Huckabees a bit differently. The first time I saw it I felt the same way you guys did, that it was overly pretentious and a bit silly. But when I had to sit through it again I took it as the movie making fun of these characters for being pretentious idiots and that the movie made light of the whole idea. I dunno, it still isn't an incredibly good movie but I did find it pretty funny the second time through.

Garden State was a really good movie, very funny. I didn't like the ending though.

I don't love garden state per se, but it's worth the watch just for Natalie Portman because she looks absolutley beautiful in it and the way she appears is the film is totally how I wish my girlfriend was.

Me too. Except she should put out more.

Awesome movie though. Zach Braff is a god.

I just watched it and it's ok. I've got to agree with xcellerate, though. I liked several songs.
