I need some help. I have been trying to see what this guy GaRpY is all about. I can't seem to find any videos seeing as all the demos will not work beacuse of the newer version of Steam. I really would like to see this guy play. I have looked everywhere and I can't seem to find some good footage of this guy. If anyone could convert the .dem's to avi's or give me a link to see some vids of this guy play I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Yeah man, he's crazy! I want to see more but I dont have the old Half Life before Steam. :( Yeah, he does have a funny name. :laugh:
 
I have an old version of HL.. I can try and avi-fy them for you. I'd be interested in having his vids too :)
 
Well that vid was bloody outrageous! The thing is while he's obviously amazingly good at that game, chances are he plays more than is healthy for him. I mean to know that map that well, and just gauss jumping around like that is mad - and he probably knows all the maps that well too. :O

His gaussjumping is nothing special, it's the tactics and aim tbh :)

I wouldn't know anything about DM so I wouldn't know! :P I've heard your damn good yourself so I'll take your word for it ;)
 
Garpy was #1 DM player in all the world for awhile...then a few of my friends, IE. [pmers]Vortex and [pmers]Derek(or Harry you can refer to him as ExecuterX ;) ) Passed his skill, they could probably slap him around like a dirty whore, I know at least Vortex can, Finland is home to very good dm players, I wish I lived there so I could learn from executerx and vortex personally.

Harry, you need to see the screen shot where executerx beat 5 -)SoA(- guys by himself ;)

Edit: Shit bi0gauss and Skie on this board are damn good too, they need to make some more damn videos. :cheers:

Well, I got the old version of Half Life and AG:HL and I was able to watch all of his demos. Damn, some of his shit is un-human. LoL, anyway, :)

uhh no...

Vortex beat garpy once in stalkyard, and that's because he didn't spawn for the last two minutes of the game.

Exe may have beaten him in stalkyard, but I doubt it.

No one has beaten garpy in boot_camp.

And if they were around, I could beat 5 -)SoA(- guys, so that's nothing to brag about.

Also, bi0 is my lover.

I saw this post and i cudn't resist posting :) so you are after demo's of me, i haven't played half life in about a year now. but i have loads of demos, but no doubt they only work on the older version... you will need the orginal hl installed not the steam one to play these demos, but if you add me to your msn i will send you as many demo's as you would like, my msn is [email protected].

and for vortex and who ever passing my skill :D all i can say is LOL :)

LoL at Derek and Vortex "surpassing" Garpys skill.

Garpy, to anyone that was involved in the HLDM scene, was the no.1 player for a very long time.

On Boot camp, one of the recognised judgement maps, he was only beaten once in 3 years, to KIA Don.

He was very rarely beaten on ANY map, and in the occasion mentioned earlier, Vortex got 30 frags ahead very quickly, and when garpy started realing him in, and got within a couple of frags (map control on this map was key, and very very rarely changed hands) Vortex refused to spawn for over 2 minuutes. (in fairness to Vortex, he admitted he didnt want to lose, and his non spawning was only done in a light hearted manner)

I have over 300 gig of Garpy demos, and a further 300 gig of KIA Team demos, and if you ever get a chance, the one to watch is the Garpy vs Lynx demo on Bootcamp.

This match took place about an hour after Garpy got back from a 3 week family holiday. Lynx, the recognised no.2 bootcamp player at the time (his brother Don was teh only player ever to beat Garpy on boot, although i was 14-14 with 2mins 47 secs to go once, lost 26-15 though :( ) offerd to play garpy, garpy sai dno, cos he was out of practice, we called garpy a lamer for about an hour, whoch led to lynx getting absolutely demolished, in lynx own word, someone go round and break this freaks hands.

Garpy is now 2 months into a Painkiller career, and already ranked in the worlds top 20, those that know him, are as convinvced as each other, taht he will be no.1, ripping voo and fatality to pieces, in a very short while :)
