Garry's Mod 10 Crashing - Need Help

I have Garry's mod 10, and my computer specs are fine, (.99 gb ram, 2.79 ghz, intel pentium 4, direct x 9), but Garry's mod crashes my computer to the blue screen of death at seemingly random times. It happened when I killed a fast zombie, and again when a barrel exploded and another time when I crushed a zombie with a shipping crate. I need to know what is wrong. It sucks having to play the game and feel like I'm walking on thin ice. I've already tried renaming my folder and reinstalling and I have no mods. Any help would be great.
