Hello

yeah so uh, I can't afford car insurance anymore, or registration. And gas is expensive because of my commute. 26 miles each way, and about 60 dollars a month. And yesterday I got a citation to appear in court because my car isn't registered.

So I've been trying to think of things I can do. I thought maybe the bus, but that would be expensive. So I thought maybe a gasscooter. It would be faster then my bike, and I can sit down, and the gas would be cheaper then car, and I wouldn't need insurance or registration. Now, these things have about a 30 mile range, so I could go to work, and when I'm done fill up again at work (I work at a gasstation), and go home. But I don't know much about gas scooters, so I thought I'd ask all my peeps on the boards.

Do any of you own gas scooters? Would it be feasible for a 26 mile commute? My mom REALLY doesn't want me to do it, but she has yet to think of a reason why not.

I would really appreciate any advice you guys can give me.

i almost bought one.... almost

Scooters? Or "Aerocars". You need a pilots license for an aerocar, which is atleast 2000 smacks. pffft. Besides, you can't just take off from Foothill Blvd!! All the yuppies would go nuts!

And for a gas scooter, I looked it up, it has the same road rules as a bicycle (i.e. Helmet, not on sidewalk, stuff like that).
