ooohhh this should go over well in the Bible belt ...teeeheee

gamespot recently featured an article on gay themes in games. Japanese audiences have been exposed to gay themed games in the past but this is a recent phenomenom in US games....The Sims will allow same sex partners to adopt a child (hehhehe I'm killing myself thinking how ultra conservatives will scream bloody murder over this one). Fable will allow gay relationships and there are more games on the way featuring homo-erotic content

so what do you all think? please check your homophobic attitude at the door, no gay bashing or flaming please
 
I think it's just fine. If you're gay then you can be gay in the game. Don't know how people can get worked up over that but they do. There is nothing wrong with being gay or having gay things in video games.
 
ha-ha the article was extremely well written, I read it from start to finish. Dont personally give a shit about gay games.. I dont personally like video games with straight relationships that much unless it's a good rpg. Oh well I guess if the games are good BRING ON THE GAYLATIONSHIPS
 
I couldn't care less to be honest, I mean I'm not interested by these games anyway. But it will be fun to see the conservatives go after "gay games" rather than the usual suspects (gta, sof, etc...).
 
hopefully it will distract the conservativse from good games like san andreas and sof2 etc.
 
Homosexuality is as normal as being hetrosexual. That's providing you're not religious, of course.
 
I dont think "gay games" are bad, or necesarrily gay. Homosexuality is a part of this world, and games will come from this world, so I dont see it as a bad thing at all. This is just the world of games catching up to the real world.
 
At the end of the day if you love the opersite sex you love the opersite sex. I don't see what the problem is?

If anyone can give me 1 good reason why gay people should not be able to truly love each other pelase tell me...
 
Everyone wants to see the "conservatives" go mad, but i love watching people coming over all politically correct...even when they proffess to being against political correctness. I, technically, would be perfectly within my rights to not like someone because they are gay. Fortunately i am not the type of person to be so shallow....But people don't like me because I'm a Christian, or even if they aren't that bad they don't like my lifestyle choice.

I think it is just fine, I also think it is just fine for me to start a gay couple in the sims and then build a wall around the kitchen....and then make them cook....and cook and if I am lucky they won't be stereotypically good at cooking and a fire will start!! Hahahaha.....ahh the sims is so much fun...for about 20 minutes.

Thats why I said I'm so so shallow as to be like that, but if i wanted to I could choose not to like someone because of something such as their sexuality....Freedom is a wonderful thing, its just a shame very few of us really have it.
 
sure it's your choice to dislike someone because of one small aspect of their lives ...but you are only doing yourself a dis-service. The IT guy at work is ultra christian but I can get beyond that and accept him for who he is...we usually have great conversations

live and let live ...I usually dont care what somebody's belief system is ...as long as they are not harming anyone else they are entitled to their beliefs

btw out of curiousity, Farrow, do you have the same outlook towards gay women as you do gay men? I'm asking because I find that a lot of men have no problem with gay wonmen but feel threatened by gay men ....not that I'm saying you're like that ...just curious

Hey, people wanted extra interaction in games, so this is what they get (people are losing ideas fast)
I'm okay with gay games, as long as they are not explicit and don't talk to the player like, "Hey Big Boy."
 
hey, the world's over populated as it is, i think at one point in history they may just...*gasp*....reccomend same sex relationships

Seriously, Japan is one weird place. I have never played a Final Fantasy game, so this is news to me.
