Gears 2 Sounds..... Great.

Oh aye, it will be complete shit. In fact, the first one was the total shittest game ever. Why did I create this thread? OH WOE IS ME.

Jesus.

Did anyone else use to specifically play as certain characters in MP? I always use to play as Col. Hoffman and will continue doing so just because he reminds me of every badass military drill instructor. He has a sweet hat, too.
I started as Baird cause I liked his goggles, then I met him in the campaign and switched to Carmine. :P

Sniper for Locust to make up for goggle-lackage.

Since when did the Gametrailers forums vomit their extra users on this forum?

Gears 1 was shit, the second one will be the same.
I OOOOOOOOOONCE WAAAAAAAS LOOOOOOOOOOOOOST...

Also, did anyone notice that Hoffman looks very similar to the drill seargant in Full Metal Jacket?

I think that was the idea behind the concept of his character, yeah. He's cliche as **** but I like him.

I love one of things he says when you lose as COG.
"Lost?...We could have won......BUT INSTEAD, WE LOST!!!!"

first one was good the first run, after I didnt felt like playing it again

and I am the only one that dont like the design of the enemyes?

No, i hated the enemies except for the Corpser and not much has changed. What the fyc/ were they supposed to be? Sewer mutant CHUDS or just unimaginative as hell aliens?

But nothing bothered me as much in the first one as the setting, angels with gears for heads is stupid and they should have stopped that stupid theme instead of using it EVERYWHERE. The grey ass city looked like nothing more than Raccoon City------in space! Comparing it to other games it was fun, but some effort would have made it awesome

I agree with some of the haters of Gears 1. It looked great, but got so boring after a very short time. This one, however, looks much much better. The environments look much more varied and the gameplay looks much more fun as well. I think I will likely never hate anyone in the gaming industry as much as CliffyB, but that said, Gears 2 thankfully looks to improve upon every aspect of the first and so I will likely be getting this by the end of the year...or at least renting it. (The recent 1Up preview of the first act went a long way to changing my mind.)

i agree, the campaign wasn't as great as it could have been but multiplayer kept me busy for months

I can't even remember what Locust soldier I played as, though I know I deffo had a specific one. Lemme Google it...

I think it was the sniper because I have a thing for goggled/military eyepiece equipment. Yeah, Locust Sniper, but I never used the sniper in MP. I use to always rush the rockets but just to surpress them from cover because someone on the other team would always aimlessly rush them. Like shooting fish in a barrel when they got there.

im pretty sure everyone played as that guy, he was pretty epic lookin *pun*

Sounds great. I don't care if it's like the first because the first was great.

Hmm, sounds pretty cool. "12 to 15 hours" isn't exactly encouraging, I thought it was meant to be longer.

12-15 is long these days, unfortunately. I just try to think of it as an extended movie experience, and in that sense it's long.

I hate Epic games and all they stand for.
I'm pretty sure the men in their games sweat steroids, can't tell from here because they wear so much damn armour. All their games also have this generic serious guy with voice to match a terminally ill patient with severe lung cancer from smoking several packs a day leading as the main character. They walk down cliche lane for inspiration for all game development:

'Have we tried predictable darkness is bad strategy yet? or what about the zombie invasion and conveniently placed explosive barrels?'

oh my god, are you this cynical and serious about everything? The design is actually pretty original, especially when you take a look at the victorianesque building designs.
Well, they DID add color to the game.
Bahaha, so true!

i actually like this game so **** you guys!

i actually like this game so **** you guys!

bah

and apparently they were supposed to be creatures that evolved with things i guess are not humans on some other planet. So Morlochs kind of. Laaaaaaaame

That whole gameonly had one part where they even attempted variety, that second chapter with the lighting the streets after dark, decent but obviously not as long as it should have been to play through but i stopped caring

go to toysrus.com or physically go into the store and pre-order the LE edition for 59.99, that's right the Limited Edition for the same price as the standard edition.

Gears of War was overrated dog poo. Boring, rinse/repeat gameplay from start to finish with nauseatingly bad art design, story, characters and so on and so forth.

I'll still probably pick this up though. Uh-huh.

Because the multiplayer rocks and co-op is a wonderful thing.

*buggers a locust with a chainsaw*
