@ everyone who keeps talking about the "good use of cover". WTF? Maybe the videos I've seen aren't a very good indication, but this was the one thing that looked totally AWFUL to me. Sure, it looks pretty cool when your guy is jumping over shit and slamming himself up against walls and stuff, but it seems totally pointless when you're still getting pumped full of lead whenever you're leaning out. And since every enemy seems to take a full clip of ammo to take down (or like two shells from the shotgun... balance FTW), that's alot of leaning.

I think that because it was for demonstration purposes, Cliff Bleszinski was perhaps going through it quicker to show off the whole map. In addition, they also had god mode on so that they could keep things rolling at a smooth pace. Cliff has always said that if you spend too much time out from cover that you'll be decimated in a short amount of time. I think once the game gets into the public's hands, they'll probably have to be way more cautious when popping up to squeeze off some shots.

Edit - So yeah, I'm not saying the game's gonna suck, and I'll still be keeping an eye on it, I guess I just still need to be sold to the concept. All I keep hearing is "it looks great!", "it's gritty and brutal!", "the combat is intense!", "it's made by EPIC!!"

Sure, all good points, but I don't see how that earns the game a Halo-esque I'm-buying-a-360-to-play-this loyalty (and I'm not comparing the game to Halo, so don't go there). It still looks like a (semi) generic 3rd person (don't say it's 2nd person, it's just 3rd person and zoomed into the crosshair) shooter - albeit with a nifty cover system, but I'll remain skeptical about it's usefulness till I play it or see some decent gameplay vids.

Wait, what about the story? and 50% of games is still a big freakin chunk.. Cinematic camera is in almost all games where you can change camera.. and about the "cover", thats why they make you able to lean in most games..

Like I said, do some research on the story yourself.

So, you didn't provide any examples of co-op in 'most games' ? Why am I not suprised.. oh ! because it's in very, very, very, very, very few.

I'll ask you the same question I did about co-op being in 'most games' - how is a 'cinematic camera' in 'most games' ? And please list them.

Cinematic camera is in ALOT of 3rd person games, when you cycle from the usually 4 different camera choices, the last one is usually cinematic, racing games mostly, and GTA games..

BTW, almost every shooter on the console is co-op, thats what I was saying.. not just games in general...

Actually, you said most games on THE console were coop, implying you were talking about the 360, which was being discussed. Also, I highly doubt MOST console games have a coop feature. Multiplayer, probably yeah, but not coop. I'd bet closer to 25%, and even less with fully fledged/featured coop modes (like uhh... Halo, or something).

its 360 exclusive currently, but hey, this is epic,
dont be surprised if it does come out for pc at some point in the future

Yeah, I suspect that it'll come out for the PC about a year after the 360 version. Apparently Microsoft wants it out for Vista under their "Games for Windows" name. We'll see.

Not if its an hdtv with "Game Mode" and with a "next-gen" videogame system hooked up to it. These guys should be getting better performance out of the engine imho, esp. given the potential power of the 360.
